It's perception. Xavier has been hammering teams and Dayton has now coughed up three big leads in a row eking out wins in all three. Of course I'm taking those points!

Is Xavier better than Iowa? Probably. Vegas and the market perceived Iowa at about -2 which I thought was a fair line. I think it should be closer to 3 or 3.5 but I think it's nearly far with a lean towards UD.

I really don't follow Xavier anymore but based on what I saw in Orlando, I don't think they are better than Iowa.

Dayton fans support Dayton athletics! Period! Naturally we could be more supportive on some levels but what we're reading is no surprise to UD and it's fans!

Crowds growing each year along with "average" attendance for Coach Jabir and his women's basketball team. Needless to say, attendance should be better given how incredibly well he and the team has done over the years---but it is getting better!

Huge crowds (thousands) often jam the Fredrick's Center for UD v-ball games against the likes of St. Louis etc. and;

Baujan can be a hornets nest for mens/men's soccer games, especially if the weather is amenable and it's a Friday evening OR a Sunday afternoon on campus!

No surprises here at all, I've been traveling for 20+ years with the Flyers hoops teams and whether it's Maui in 2000, the NCAA's in Buffalo etc. just to name a few, we always come in droves and often are the loudest and most prominent & always wearing RED!

I know that we've had a lot of NCAA success etc. in Men's hoops over the past 2+ years etc. & our incredibly supportive and well traveled fans are on some levels finally being noticed but this is nothing new as anyone whose traveled over the years or listened to the away hoops games knows!

I love being a UD sports fan and always meet great UD fans from all over the place when I travel! Always fun!

“We’re nowhere near being ready to play with them right now,” Miller said Friday. “We’ve got to get a lot better and get a game plan. They’re terrific on offense. They have experienced inside guys who manhandled their opponents on the glass the last couple times I’ve watched them play.”

Archie calls 'em like he sees 'em...

The betting line merely reflects movement of money. Movement of money reflects perception of reality and historical bias. The next time you hear someone say "This game is a lock!" run fast and far from that someone.
There is no such thing as a lock...unless the game is fixed and you're on the inside.

I believe that's called "sandbagging". Some truth there, but he's also letting his team know they're nowhere near as good as they need to be, and that he's not afraid to state that publicly. He'll have them as ready for this game as he can.

That's one thing I love about Archie: Very little BS. Straightforward. Few excuses. Of course he'll have them as ready as he can: This is a championship game on national TV. Archie has already displayed that he is a good (maybe great) tournament coach.

He's being honest, because, as much as some people don't want to hear it, Dayton will have to play better than we did vs. Iowa and Monmouth (and Bill & Mary, for that matter) to win this game. Lots of freshman on the roster. No Pierre. It has nothing to do with some "inferiority" complex; it has to do with Xavier objectively throttling opponents this season. Smoked Michigan in Ann Arbor. They were up by, what, almost 30 points on USC in the second half until they called off the dogs? USC already beat Monmouth this season.

I have no doubt the Flyers will be ready and will put up a fight. I suspect we will see fewer substitutions in this particular game as well (barring foul trouble). Will it be enough to take the title? That's why they play the game. I will be very proud of this trueteam if we walk away with the crown...

There is one player on the team who knows the Dayton y rivalry, and that is Mikesell, but as a fan. Hopefully he put a stake through their hearts with a big game. Go Flyers.
