Yes, two games for leaving the bench along with the rest of his team mates. He has served both games though, and will be back for tomorrow nights game.

The 5 players on the floor at the time of the fight were not suspended so they all played. Everyone who left the bench was suspended 2 games. In first game Wayne used JV players as subs and beat Fairmont by 17. The second game of suspension is actually tonight for the Wayne kids as they play Fairborn. Everyone will be back Monday for the Flying to the Hoop

Wayne down 32-35...another potential Royal Rumble averted quickly after a foul was met with some pushing and shoving...

Wow. If Wayne beat Findlay that is huge. Findlay was either 1 or 2 in the country.

Based on Channel 7 news at 11pm, you wouldn't know that Flyin' existed.
No highlights. No scoreboard. Not a single mention.
However, a small child was struck by a train while walking alone in some remote area of Kentucky. Police are investigating how she left her home unattended. I'm sure there will be continuing coverage of that story. NOT!
Not to lessen the tragedy of a child being killed, but is it really appropriate for coverage on the 11pm local news in Dayton, Ohio? At least the token structure fire coverage was from Dayton. I hate when they have to go to Indiana or West Virginia to get footage of something on fire. Embarrassing.

They were number 1, there are 2 Ohio teams in the Top 10 in the country. Wayne is not one of them.

OK,
first the part that everyone here cares about, Williams:
Impressive looking athlete, unfortunately he didn't get much of a chance to show off his game. Picked up 1 foul early in the first, then got a cheap call a little later for his 2nd (the refs let a lot of contact significantly worse go uncalled, I'm not even sure if Williams contacted his guy on the rebound attempt) and only played about 3 minutes in the first half. Had 1 nice put back rebound, not sure he attempted anything else in the 1st half in his limited minutes.
Watching him at halftime, he was hitting most of his midrange jumpers and 3 pointers, came out of the gate I think overly eager to do something and threw up a horrible looking 3 pointer, definently rushed his form from what he was showing in warm ups just a few minutes prior. Made a terrific base line move around a defender, under and around the rim for the reverse layup, then picked up his 3rd foul off a Wayne TO immediately following a rebound, he just got caught in a bad situation, sat the rest of the 3rd quarter, so thru 3 he played about 6 minutes of basketball.
Played the entire 4th & OT w/o picking up another foul, but I don't believe he put up many shots, a few in close or attempted put backs on offensive rebounds. Another player was credited for a putback that I think Williams tipped in, but not sure, doesn't matter much. I now see why they haven't fixed Pollard's free throw form, Archie must be waiting to get a 2 for 1 discount on fixing the same behind the head style next season when Williams shows up. After going 2-4 (or 5) in the 4th, he nailed 3 of 4 in OT to his credit, don't know what his average is on the season. Kid is an athlete, needs to put on some more bulk so he can bang with the bigger bodies down low (Findlay Prep looks like a D1 school from a physical standpoint, well and a skill standpoint as well) a little better, that will come in time. He seems very much like a team player, while on the bench w/ foul trouble, he was the first one out to greet his teammates during time outs, he was constantly calling out to his teammates on defense, willing set picks for Wayne's gaurds, etc.. Don't know what his role will be next season in terms of minutes, but he will fill that roll w/o complaint. Sometimes a star HS player isn't ready to be a guy to just set picks and play off the ball as a frosh while deferring to older guys, can't see Williams having that trouble if that is what he's called to do.
As for the rest of the game, Findlay has two outstanding guards, they could start for most D1 backcourts right now. The SG has commited to Arizona (choose the wrong Miller), seems to have a bit of an attitude problem in that he expects everything to go his way, the incident mentioned above by rollo was caused by him; Wayne handled it well I thought. I don't watch a ton of HS basketball, but sometimes a player just pops out at you as a definent star, well that kid was Findaly's PG. I saw this morning that he is being recruited by UK, Duke, etc... and he will fit in in terms of skill, great with the ball in his hands, very quick and explosive, pull up jumper and range beyond 3 point land. Another kid that seemed to have a bit of an attitude problem, after the game was over, he tried to leave the court w/o shaking hands, Findlay's coach wouldn't let him, grabbed him and made him go back in. Of course it doesn't stop there, there are a number of other high quality D1 kids, I don't care for the offensive system they run, frankly it seemed like an AAU program, a bunch of 1 on 1, but those kids were highly skilled, could jump thru the rafters and most of them had range out to the 3 point land. Basically they're an AAU club on steroids, but you could tell they've rarely, if ever been punched in the mouth before. Wayne took it right to them and wouldn't let up the entire game.
Wayne had a number of solid players as well, beyond Williams. The kid going to Iowa had a nice game attacking the rim, kind of reminds me of Coby Turner his frosh/soph season before he started nailing a bunch of 3s. Don't know if that kid can hit from there or not, don't recall him taking many, if any. They had a nice undersized guard/SF (at least compared to the competition) who showed no fear, tough kid that attacked the rim and fought for rebounds, hit a couple of 3s as well. Trice didn't shot the ball great, but played awesome defense. Wayne's HS is about 5'10" but quick as a bug, hit a bunch of 3 pointers and pull up jumpers. Easily the player of the game. Don't know that is a typical game for this kid or if he just played out of his mind, but if that is typical, expect him to blow up on the recruiting trail next summer. May be a bit undersized to attract the elite programs, but if that game is an indicator, somebody is going to get an outstanding PG.
Overall, I like the way Wayne played, while HS basketball is often a game of 1 on 1 with the best athletes on each side attempting to dominate, Wayne share the ball pretty well. They seemed fairly disciplined, listened to Coach Trice well, and executed their game plan. No fear in that team. I don't know what happened at Springfield, but they seem like a likeable, hard working bunch, at least from the 5th row. Wish Williams could have shown off a little more, the athleticism is obviously there, if he's willing to put in the work (and I think he will based upon watching him work off the ball) I think he's a star in the making, probably take a season or 2 to get there, but with Pierre on board, he's likely the understudy there for a season anyways, seems like a good situation to be in for the kid.

Commented on him in my review, couldn't remember his name. Think of him as a bigger Kyle Davis with a better shot. Tough kid, well built, looks like he could play Safety in the Big 10 (don't know if he plays FB or not). Certainly wouldn't complain if UD signed him.

As was Mic Cronin, Izzo, and a ton of assistants (Iowa, Michigan, Bowling Green, Robert Morris, Michigan St assistant were just a few that I noticed mulling around.)
They had to hold up the start of the 2nd half and 4th quarter as people were flocking to Pitino to get a picture with him (obviously he was agreeing b/c it lasted the entire half time) Has to be a pain to deal with that kind of attention, posing for pictures for people you've never meet. I guess good thing for Rick is that the pictures lasted no more than 6 seconds

There were a lot of talented uncommitted juniors ame sophomores at the event. Some impressive talent. Many colleges had people there, including UD. Huggins, Cronin and more were in attendance.
This is a nice event for Dayton.
The basketball academies play much more one on one than the real high schools, such as Wayne, Wilmington, Dublin, ....

With Flyin' to the Hoop kicking off tonight, I thought I'd revisit this thread all these years later. Kind of interesting that the player who's name I didn't know (highlighted above) may very well have the biggest impact on college hoops of all the stars there. That player of course would be Mr Landers.
Alonzo Trier... flamed out in college sitting much of his junior year after a 2nd failed drug test, bounced back and forth between the G-league and the NBA
Derryck Thornton Jr, reclassified and went to Duke after his junior season. He played a bunch at Duke but didn't shoot particularly well and transfered to USC. He put up mediocre stats there and is now a grad senior at Boston College 12 points a night, but only 23% from long range.
Justin Jackson had a solid frosh season at Maryland, entered the draft, pulled out, got hurt and missed his sophomore season then entered the draft again, got picked late in the 2nd round and hasn't done much of anything in the NBA.
We know about Williams, solid soph season, flamed out, now redeeming himself at Akron
Wager never did much at iowa
Blue Smith choose football, left Ohio State and enrolled at UK
Rodrick Caldwell - I thought he'd tear things up at BGSU, but he was just kind of OK, and has since transferred to Ashland.
D'Mitrick Trice was considered a suprirse when he committed to Wisconsin after a year in prep school. He's had a very solid career at Wisconsin.
then there is Trey who has just kept grinding and grinding, getting better and better and is currently shooting the 3 ball at a 38% clip, attacking the rim and is the vocal leader on this team.
Sure, neither Trice nor Landers will sniff the NBA, but both will make solid money overseas and it wouldn't shock me to see both of them end up as coaches. Findley Prep had all the potential, Wayne had all the heart and it was as obvious then as it is now.

I was at the game when Trey Landers made the insane dunk on a missed 3 pointer by a teammate in the game against Findlay Prep which Wayne won in overtime. Everyone in the crowd was going crazy! Under the circumstances it was the best dunk I had ever seen. As a guard he just rose up over everyone going down the lane for a rebound and threw it down as it came off the rim all in one motion!

^ you are correct. IIRC, he had some mental health issues he was dealing with, hopefully he's managing well and able to contribute on the field next season.
