Words That Describe This Team
I don't know about you but I am beginning to want to use some new adjectives to describe this team, this program, this year.
Tuff
Awesome
Willful
Mature
Tenacity
Doesn't seem to cut it. Yes they may describe the team in some fashion, but this year (and when you add LAST year) to your thoughts on this team, this program, this year you have to start asking yourself, what can I say that is special about them?
In another post I mentioned the Flyin' Phenoms
There just so happens to be an airplane that is named the Embraer Phenom which I thought I would show can be related to flying.
Can anyone else help in putting some special descriptors out there to assign to this special team, this special program?

This is a quote from The Boys in the Boat (1936 Berlin Olympics Gold Medal Winners):
"Men as fit as you are, when your everyday strength is gone, draw on a mysterious reservoir of power far greater.
Then it is that you can reach for the stars.
That is the way champions are made." - George Yeoman Pocock
Great book, great quote - - GO FLYERS. True Team.

The only time I've ever watched rowing is in the Olympics and know nothing about the details of the sport. The background story for The Boys in The Boat sounded interesting and was highly recommended on Amazon. So I gave it a try. It is one of the best books I've ever read.
Sorry for getting off topic.

Smart
It's so unbelievably enjoyable to watch a smart team instead of a dumb team. It's a fast game, physical mistakes will be made. But we make so few mental errors. It's like watching Ivan Lendl play tennis. We just methodically go about our business from tip-off to final horn, and if we're the better team that day we win.

Here you go!
How about :
Doggedness in their determination
Exhibiting Pertinacity when they hit the court
Being Resolute
Sedulous
Indefatigable
OK so I cheated but I did get to use my on-line thesaurus!
And didn't have to stay overnight at Holiday Inn Express!
