NIT
A little surprised Richmond didn't get in. There will also be a lot of crying at Maryland. I guess if you are Georgetown, a 17-14 record is good enough.

When you are G'town 17-14 almost gets you into the Big Dance. Heck, it almost gets you a 10 seed in the dance if no one is looking.

You're right. G'town was one of the last four out.

CBI and CIT were also announced. Wright State is in the CIT. Is the CIT considered 'better' than the CBI? Looks like it. CBI field is downright horrible. Richmond doesn't have a bid in either. From the teams in the CBI, it looks like Richmond turned it down and the CBI just took whoever would come. Siena? A sub-.500 low major? And everybody's favortie bad loss: Illinois State. Penn State is in it, too, but I know they just want more games to prep for next year. Young team. Oregon State and Texas A&M are the only other high majors to take a bid.

I think the only reason to go to either the cbi or cit is to prep for next year. The NIT is not a bad tournament and I often watch the games if they are on when the ncaa isn't. I usually make a point to watch the finals also.

The CIT is for mid-majors. The CBI is considered the better tourney.
lot of schools turn down bids to the CBI like Indiana and Ole Miss

Some turn down invitations because the home team has to pay to host. I don't know the exact number, but I've heard UD would turn those down because of the economics. Considering the poor turnout for the NIT game hosted in 2010, I'm guessing CBI would be even worse.
