OMG!! This is great! I was there and contributed to the noise and it still gave me chills and a lump in my throat. I've always liked Mark Adams and I know he has a soft spot in his heart for the Flyers. I'm going to watch the recorded game first thing tomorrow and savor it again. Thanks for sharing this.

My voice was a disaster after that game. Best of all, I took a buddy that had never been to a UD game before, let alone in the arena. He's really not even a UD - yet! On the way home, he asked how one goes about obtaining season tickets.

Mission accomplished. Think how a recruit would feel at a game like that. They'll be wearing out colors for sure!

Goosebumps is the word for me when watching the vid. What a perfect combination of the shot, the reaction, the "We Will Rock You!", the students, the next generation of students, and Mark Adams.

Did you notice Mark's play-by-play guy try to take some of the luster away when Mark said there is no greater college basketball town in America than Dayton? Guy says, "Not tonight." To which Mark emphatically shoots back, "EVERY night!"

I remember taking a buddy that was attending Ball State to the Arena for a game. It just happened to be the DePaul game where Ed Young hit the game winner. Between the arena and the ghetto, he was overwhelmed.

	Ghetto UD GHETTO Student neighborhood surrounding the campus of the University of Dayton. Unique to UD, the Ghetto gets its name from the nickname students gave the depression and war-period row houses the university owns and rents to Dayton students during their course of study. The landlord arrangement and compact nature of the neighborhood homes create a camaraderie among students outside of class that provides personal space away from classrooms and on-campus dorms. Parties and celebrations on Ghetto streets are legendary and have made David Letterman's Top-10 List. A significant effort has been made in recent years to curb hooliganism and renovate older homes.

I watched the replay this morning and it surprised me that Darrell Davis had some quiet contributions to the win. He has really good hops and a nose for defensive rebounds, 2 assists, a steal, and maybe the clincher was only 1 TO in 22 minutes of play.

He's one of those players that you want to play fast, but don't hurry. Anyway, thought he helped off the bench last night.

From about the 5-minute mark until the end of the game, that was about as much of a "sustained loud" as I've heard in that Arena in a long, long time. Calls to mind the MCC Final in 1990 or even (gasp!) the ND game in 1974.

What the video doesn't show is that when Dyshawn has the ball on the baseline, the Scoochinator is standing out beyond the arc literally begging for the ball. DP fakes a pass or two and then hits Scooch who does not hesitate and drills the triple.

On a related note, in watching the game replay I noticed that Scooch is shooting his FTs with his palms on the ball rather than with his fingertips. That would explain why his FTs are clanging off the rim. He needs to find the seams, spread his fingers and drill those bad boys.

I have a kid who likes bowling. Right now he insists he's doing it right even though me and his coaches are telling him he's doing it wrong. And his scores suck.

So if some parent posted on the team fan page (yeah right) and said "he's doing it wrong" would that parent be wrong? No.

Pointing out that he's going it wrong is in no way a call for smart a$$ery. Just a statement of fact. It doesn't mean the staff doesn't know it, sometimes--this might be hard to believe--people can be stubborn.
