Joey Gruden Appreciation Thread
The man deserves his own thread. Only a walk-on but poured his heart, soul, tears and blood into the program. Came back to provide extra Senior leadership.
Jon Gruden is Joey Gruden's Uncle. Jay Gruden is Joey Gruden's Dad.
Next Redskins or Raiders game i watch they better be referred to as Joey Gruden's Dad/Uncle

Best of luck to Joey! I know he eventually wants to coach so maybe we'll see him back on a UD bench some day.

Coach Bonsu will hire him....write it down. 10 years from now they will be on the same staff.

This thread was a very nice thing to do. Joey, you exemplified what it means to be part of a "team" with only the goals of the "team" as your purpose. Best of luck in your coaching career and I know that I, as well as everyone on these threads, will follow your career with pride in your accomplishments.
I think a good start would be to join the staff of Ray Harper, Jr., learn everything that he knows, and come back to UD.
Congratulations and best of success in the future.

Joey would join the staff and demote Ray(his boss). Joey doesn't work for ANYONE. Including Ray Harper.
DaytonDandy's opinion is irrelevant in this matter

Most of us do not appreciate the self-discipline that non-schollie payers must have to get to early practices, work their butts off during practice & bring energy to the bench. They have a true love for the game. Thank-you Joey- you'll always be a Flyer!

Thank you, Joey. We appreciate all the sacrifices you made the last four years. You've earned a spot on the all-time UD walk-on team captained by Bobby Wehrli.

Joey is my daughter's favorite player. She was always excited when he was able to get into a game. You have to hand it to any walk-on. All the effort just for the love of the game.

Congratulations Joey! You will always be remembered as a crowd favorite whenever you came into a game. Never forget that loud roar when you hit that 3 pointer on 1/12/18 in the 106-79 blowout of VCU.
