BEVERLY HILLS (MI) -- While the result of Friday’s UD/Austin Peay contest was as many of the Flyer Faithful
had expected, what happened the following day was not. It seems that Archie and his staff had a 2017 recruit sitting behind the home team’s bench for the game vs. the Governors and less than 24 hours later, that young man -- 16-year-old Nahziah Carter from Rochester, NY-- committed to the Flyer program. That is some under-the-radar recruiting right there, boys and girls! VerbalCommits.com had him listed as a 2018 prospect since he was so young and was being encouraged to do a year of post-grad prep school in order to mature. Carter had recently been offered by Providence.
His HS coach Kevin Goode says that Carter can jump out of the gym and the following highlight from the Nike EYBL dunk contest provides testimony to that effect:

Oh and one other thing: as Evan Daniels of Scout.com first tweeted, Nahziah is the nephew of rapper Jay Z.
