Injury update via DDN, Alex won't play which isn't surprising, but Dyshawn is back!
Dyshawn Pierre, a 6-6, 210-pound freshman from Canada, missed the Findlay exhibition with an ankle sprain, but he’s been practicing and will make his debut against Walsh.
“When you’re a freshman and miss a week, it’s like a month,” Miller said. “He needs Sunday to come quick. He needs to get out there and feel the lights so he feels good about himself. He’s in catch-up mode, but he can help us.”
Can't wait to see what the youngster brings!

Anyone think Pierre may get a little time at the 4? 210 is pretty solid for a 19 year old kid, even at 6'6".

Just my opinion, I think he will see more time at the 2 than the 4

I'm very excited to see what Pierre might bring to the Flyers.
And the bigs on Walsh should give our bigs a good simulation of what they should face against division 1 teams this season.

Walsh is good, but the Flyers look better. Need some breaks to fall our way. Keep it up like this and we will win.

Walsh 5-8 on threes, UD 0-5. Hope that evens out by halftime.
I still say the Flyers look good. Glad to see Pierre in there, but nothing to show so far.
Matt still looks fuddled.

I like our rebounding.
Do not like our defense and we can't make anything from the outside.

I rebooted and the stream is smooth now. Video quality is poor, like our perimeter defense.

They're not going to keep shooting 70% from three. The perimeter defense needs work, but it's not all bad defense.

Kudos to the FlyerTV crew for a pretty good production. Clearly they're raising the bar--decent play by play, better camera work, angle changes/zooms, replays, graphics. Appreciate the effort.

Our defense was decent, but our offense is pathetic. If we do not get it inside, we are toast from the outside.

By the way, Walsh shot 50% from the floor last season, and 40% from three point. They may level out a bit tonight in the second half, but not much. We have to put it in the jar if we are going to catch them.
We are showing a great deal of scrappiness tonight. Bodies are moving and ball movement is pretty crisp. Not putting enough points on the board for all our hard work.

Defensive energy is much better. Creating transition.
Would like to see this get into a half court slugfest though. Offense can't be all transition. We have lived that story.

Flyers 9-10 in 2nd half - but what about Robinson's ankle or leg? It did not look good.

Has Derenbecker been benched?
If so, I like it. Send the message early that if you are going to jack it up every time you touch the ball, you better make them.

Robinson went in locker room for treatment. He was moving better when he went in.Hopefully a kick or cramp. If a sprain not good because it would be a high ankle sprain. He is back on bench now.

Pierre with the 3... Sweet... Would be amazing if he can become a viable option from 3

Pierre with a 3?
Didn't look that unorthodox.

What a difference on our interior defense and offense from last year. That big kid who ate up the likes of Kav and Gav is doing nothing.

Robinson looks ok! I already can see that if he gets the ball under the basket it is money in the bank.

Vee is a lot more athletic than I thought he'd be. I loved CJ and PW, but it is refreshing to have a wing player who can handle the ball.

The Northland duo really know how to finish around the basket. I like it!

Ok, so this means the Flyers are 10 points better that Ohio State...

One more observation - I was glad to see the ref not fall for the obvious flop in the first half by the Walsh player. Called an emphatic foul on the flopper. The ref looked irate and got in the coach's face and probably said to the coach that that would result in a fine in the nba.
Way to go ref.

IMO Walsh looked like they will be a DII power. More size and athleticism than Findlay. This Flyer team has to play with a lot of pace even in the half court because they cant settle for treys. They need a lot of ball and player movement to penetrate the lane.

We are so much more athletic than we have been in many years. Vee brings another dimension that we haven't had from the 2 guard. He can really handle the rock and can get to the rim. Jalen and Devon are going to be huge inside for us and when Gavs comes back we will have a lot more depth under the basket. Really impressed Pierre. Under control and a much better athlete than I imagined. This team has a huge upside.

I second that emotion.
I wish I could buy some Flyer stock at 109 (Lindy/Athlon?), because I think it may double and wind up at about 50, or better. (Inverse-wise)
