Some Xavier comic relief re UD

Serously fans, the NCAA's have moved on and our phones aren't ringing by press people anymore. Some of the subjects are getting threadbare. So if you want some comic relief you only need to read this Xavier thread that touches every possible emotion. Most of you know the hate relationship with X, but this thread has humor, jealousy, resignation, compliments, hate blended with reluctant reality, et.al.

IMHO, the "X" thread seemed quite reasonable...sure there were a few "F" bombs thrown in, that's to be expected, but, on the whole, I thought most of the Posts there were pretty thoughtful and not disrespectful or snide. Yeah there was tad of animosity showing, but that's what rivalries (even old ones) are made of. Hats off to the "X" posters (most of them anyway.)

I can understand the hatred for Dayton - we're rivals. But I can't quite understand the hatred for udpride. Sure we root for our team and poke fun at Xavier when appropriate, but this is a really well-moderated board. Fans of opponents are welcome and even encouraged here as long as they show some common sense with basic respect. Xubrew is one of the most respected posters on the board here. The board almost unanimously condemned anyone who would boo Mack's wife. *shrug*

The only thing I really can't stand about them and thier board is thier hatred of the city of Dayton. I grew up here, I like it here, I have been to over 30 states and 20 other countries and I still like it here. Hate the team all they want but hating the city just seems low.
Then again these are internet X fans so I shouldn't be surprised.

I'm sure those that do frequent pride feel the "love" so many of us have for all things X lol

What's also been so funny over the years is to hear some folks (a couple dip-sh***) who played for them for a couple seasons and several X fans blather on about how UD really isn't even a rival yada yada yada....then you read that stuff and there ongoing efforts to trash UD and UD hoops on the holyland site and that board and you really wonder why they seem so pre occupied with UD/UD Hoops if "we" don't matter to them at al.......lol

***On a side note, if anybody on this site is going onto the holyland site and posting the ongoing "cra*" about either spewing venom about X's program OR how crappy the NEW Big (L)east is....(you know who you are....) could you please lay off! There are several folks who just can't seem to stay away from there key pads and when MOST loyal UD fans are not there to support the program (in a more positive way) and the only "taste" the NBE schools get of UD is a couple posters (making arses out of themselves) and identifying themselves as all things UD-------that kinda' thing doesn't help anybody--anywhere----anytime! Again, just my humble opinion!
