Blackburn/McCafferty Trophy!
If UD plays X tomorrow, is the Blackburn/McCafferty trophy up for grabs--and if so, is someone from Dayton getting it down to Orlando?
If not, someone should get on this ASAP and add another layer of interest to the game. It would be the 151st meeting--probably the most games of any two schools who no longer play one another. Wikipedia says the trophy is given to "the winner of regular season games between the two schools". As such, the trophy should be awarded to tomorrow's winner. This is neither the pre-season nor the post-season--therefore, this is indeed the regular season.
Attn: Doug Hauschild: Play this for all it's worth. Sit the trophy on the officials table and let ESPN know what's going on. They'll definitely give it plenty of airtime.

Screw X. If they want a chance to get the trophy back, their AD can call our AD and discuss coming to UD Arena for a game.

Kansas and Missouri have played 267 times. And, like XU v UD, the people in charge need to get over themselves and resume the series. Even if they do end up playing down in Orlando, it's not the same. I mean, Syracuse v UConn was great yesterday, but it was also in another country in front of hundreds of drunk tourists instead of tens of thousands of crazed fans. It's not the same. Not even close.
Georgetown v Maryland finally came back, and it was the most exciting and intense atmosphere of the season so far. We need more games like that at this point in the year because it generates excitement in a sport that could really use a lot more of it throughout November and December. And, Virginia has taught us that "Everything to lose and nothing to gain" is a bunch of BS. They lost at GW, and they didn't lose everything. Hell, it didn't even set their SEASON back, much less their program. I realize that XU v UD isn't quite on the level of Maryland v Georgetown or Kansas v Mizzou, but it's still a much better out of conference game than the vast majority of the games that either team schedules.

Usually, in a long-time rivalry that has ended one school cares about it and wants to renew...and one doesn't or at least doesn't care.
Re X and UD, UD cares and X doesn't. After the UConn-SU game the coach's renmarks made it clear that UConn would love to renew the series and SU doesn't give a hoot. SU is in the ACC, big time, UConn is in the AAC, not-so-big-time. X is in the new BE...
UConn and BC played FB since pigs were invented so that balls could be made. But, now BC is in the ACC and feels it is lowering itself to play its long time rival in FB or anything else. Finally, it appears BC will play UC in the near future...but it was like pulling teeth, to say the least.
UD just has to keep winning....the rest will take care of itself.

Monmouth is very good winning @UCLA, @Drexel, and neutral ND. Only loss @USC. Dayton 74% shot to win.
USC is very good wining Monmouth and W State neutral. Xavier 62% shot to win.
Both UD and X have their work cut out. About a 45% chance both Dayton and Monmouth win. Moreover, computers likely undervaluing Monmouth and USC right now.

I just want my Flyers to focus on Monmouth and not the potential game after. Monmouth is for real.
Also, do any of the current Flyers even remember that trophy?
