Which one?
Which of the departed seniors do you believe will be most glaringly missed
1. In the non-conference
2. In conference
3. At season's end looking back at the entire season as a whole
I'm having a hard time with this given a new coach, system, players. I'm guessing Scoochie is the most logical choice but can't convince myself he would be the answer to any of the questions let alone all 3. Interested in how others see things.

Scoochie because nobody can truly feel confident running Crosby and Crutcher out there to fill 40 minutes at point guard.

I think Kyle Davis set the "warrior" tone that the others seem to feed on....

Absolutely Scoohie!! If we can in anyway shape or form bring to the offense his stability and creativity then we will have a tremendously successful season but I am afraid no one has the confidence in JC to think he can lead us but I personally think he is a very talented individual!!

When Scoochie was in the game you could sit there and feel confident the ball would make it past half court without and issue, he would make decent passes and he could hit a free throw with the game on the line. Not sure I will feel that way before January. And I hope I can feel that then.
I have a feeling this team will be run the old fashioned way, without the PG always having his hands on the ball. We shall see.

Scoochie, because you could win during the last few years without another piece of the lineup, but realistically not without scooch's presence on the floor. I say that because not only was capable of doing it all, but opponents really feared him, as he could get shoots to go, that others simply could not.
With that said, I think Crosby is ready.

Scoochie would be the logical answer and if I had to make a bet, he'd be who I'd choose. But I have a feeling this team will not have as much trouble scoring points as it will preventing them. A good part of that might be turnovers which again points to Scooch. But I also think Kyle's quickness on defense when it's late in the game will also stand out as a deficit. As long as our PGs can get the ball across half court and retain it when it's in their hands, I see this offense scoring from lots of different places on the floor.
One thing I'm almost certain of is that this team will not be able to make late comebacks as they had in the past because of the defense. We might be able to hit more 3s, but that rarely ever works as a comeback strategy.

My vote is for Kyle Davis. It is hard to replace heart, soul, hustle, and leadership/example-setting.

I am worried about the offense. AG's teams have a history of being low-scoring.

Yeah, that crossed my mind. I believe we have the horses needed for a high powered offense, so coach better know how to use it. We certainly look to have the best 3 point shooting in a long time on paper anyhow and they are big enough to score under the hoop too.

I am a vote for Scoochie as well. We are in the golden age for point guards and he was an extremely good one. We may see how important he was when the Flyers open up their season. There is a lot of pressure on John Crosby trying to fill Scoochie's shoes. In fact, they may prove to be to big to fill, at least this year.

It's a Tie
between Scoochie and Kyle Davis. Scoochie won games at the offensive end and Kyle won them with defensive stops.

SS, because live ball turnovers change a game. Just never happened with SS. The other team had to face the teeth of the defense every time.
If JC turns the ball over 30 feet from the hoop it won't matter if we shoot 40% from 3.

Charles Cooke. Best, most conistent player the last 2 years. awesome perimeter defender and great athlete
Too bad his last game vs Wichita was rough, but a one game sample doesn't define him. Cooke was our best player

Scoochie then Kyle.
The program went places because of Scoochie. The entire team was better with him on the floor no matter what the situation was. Kyle is a great defender and provided a great spark in the game. He is one of my favorite all time players. But I don't think the last 4 years would have been what they were without a player such as him doing his thing.
Scoochie bought in to the TEAM. Not the individual part of the game. He made everyone else better.

While I agree with you on Charles skills and talent(as proven by the fact he is on an NBA roster right now) he is not what this team needs most.
This team needs a point guard plain and simple.

What this team needs most? I don't think that was the question kicking off this thread?
My $.02:
Scoochie (KD a close 2nd)

I am not sure it matters who was better - I always thought the whole was greater than the sum of the individual parts.

It asked what player will be the most glaringly missed which to me basically means what this years team needs the most(or is it's biggest question mark). There are lots of question marks for this year's team but I think it's pretty obvious that the lack of a point guard is the biggest one.

Although, thinking about it this way, you could argue it might be KD.
Maybe, just MAYBE, JC will be a decent PG this year with a freshman backup. Definitely no SS who was our most important player, but maybe serviceable.
There is no other KD. No one on this roster can serviceably replace KD.

Thought I would revisit this. Scoochie was the overwhelming winner. Most responders didn't delineate between non-conf and conf.
Team D is horrible for the most part. Since A10 play started, Crutcher is averaging 5.2 Assists, 2 TOs and 12.5 pts per game. His rebounding has really picked up recently as well. He has really stepped it up and is much more a part of the solution than the problem.
I couldn't convince myself then nor now that SS would be most missed. To me it comes back to either CC or more likely KD as most impactful. AMs teams started with D and the D tone was most often set by KD. TL may be a spark plug but he is no KD and is much too inconsistent in his efforts to replace what KD provided.
Until this team decides to play defense, the roller coaster of mediocrity will continue.

on Defense there is no one with the Attitudes of Pollard and KD.
On offense, it's clearly Scoochie.

Now that I've seen our issues, I think Kendall is what we could've used more this season. On offense he was the only big man that could drive to the hoop and intimidate at the same time. On D he's certainly better than anything we have now. Kendall and Josh in the lineup at the same time would probably solve a lot of our problems. Problem would be when giving either a breather or foul trouble. I do know we'd get more FT opportunities but the bad part would be it would be Kendall doing most of the FT shooting.
