25-20 Flyers at the end of quarter 1. Rebounding well (20-7).
Utter stupidity again with clock management at the end of the quarter. Gave SLU 3 points.

We have 27 rebounds to their 13, and only 1 turnover, but cannot make layups, so only lead by 3.

In defense of Harris, while she can't put the ball in the basket she is hitting her freethrow so she not really hurting us as frustrating as it is to watch.

50-34 Flyers at the half. Dominating rebounding (34-18). Layfield already with 11 boards. Burdette with 20 points. Flyers are 13-13 from the line.
SLU in foul trouble. We are really pushing the ball hard in transition. While SLU is a good shooting team, the quick pace is taking their legs out of them and affecting their shots.
1 and only 1 turnover!!!!! Amazing, considering the pace of the game.
One big negative - as noted by all - bigs can't finish inside. Scaife's shots not falling either.

Great last five minutes by the Flyers. Layfield with 11 rebounds. Burdette showing why she is a better player than the hyped Kemph, outscoring her 20-17. Cannatelli with 14.
I am really impressed with Wilmoth. She is darn good for a soph.
Rebounds up 34-18 and only 1 turnover in the first half. What an improvement from a few years ago. Green does a great job of teaching good hard passes.

It would be nice if we knew what is going on with Ward and when she will be back? Ditto with Maddy Dennis?

At chalk talk on Thursday Green wouldn’t give any timetable for Ward other than she will be back this season. She said they didn’t have a diagnosis for Dennis so she couldn’t (or wouldn’t) offer any info on her.

Harris' layups and poor defense is killing us right now. No one but Burdette back and stopping the dribble, which allows layups and open threes. When the shots don't fall and you give no effort on defense, disasters happen.

We are not pushing the ball up the floor. That is how we built that lead. We are letting them back into this one. Time out was one possession too late imo.
Come on Flyers, let's get back to a rythem

Layfield with another double double, of course, 10 and 17 and 4 assists. Jenna is feelin' it today big time. I hope she gets 40. Harris with 12 and 13. Wilmoth close to a double double.

Running with the Flyers is not SLUs strong point, but Dayton really pushed the pace to how we like it. Just keep pushing it this 4th quarter.
Harris and Layfield are beasts on the boards.

Wilmoth one pt away from a double double. When was the last time a Flyer team had three people with a double double?

We are playing very well balanced basketball today. Scaife is struggling, but playing hard and a lot smarter with her shots not falling.
I would love to see Szabo and Phillips get some points.

Wow, when was the last time, if ever, the men and women scored 100 on the same weekend?
Looked and sounded like a great home crowd on TV.

63-36 on the boards. Huge. Only 8 turnovers. 25-28 from the line. 10-20 from 3.
Layfield came out late, but it looked like just a cramp. Not surprising - considering how hard she played.
It seems this team is starting to form an identity. The pace of play has gone up and the number of turnovers has gone down. All of this with only 7 players. We seemed to handle the pace fairly well with our limited numbers. Fatigue did show a few times when we were slow on transition "D".
Overall our defense was just so-so. Part of that is the extreme concern about fouls with such a short bench and the need to stay out of foul trouble. To do that, we play somewhat soft on defense. That excuse, however, does not wash for transition defense and not getting back quickly. Also, our bigs need to finish better inside.
Big game Wednesday at Fordham.

Burdette moves into 21st place in career scoring with 1104 -- needs 24 to move up to 20th (Steph Mathu, 1128).

I understand your comment about not getting back on transition defense, but cut the players some slack, they're gassed. Playing hard all out with no bench so to speak to releave tehm.
