Blackburn Court
Where is it on UD Arena floor?
If you watch on TV you never see it because it runs in out of bounds territory in front of press row. Never see it on TV.
Depending where you sit at UD Arena you may (50% of crowd) never see it.
As I watch tv tonight Dick Vitale Court is on the court at U of Detroit
Coach K Court is on the court at Duke
Denny Crum Court is on the court at UL YUM Center.
UCONN gals at Houston tonite on tv....Guy Lewis Court across entire baseline at BOTH ENDS OF COURT.
WOODEN COURT is on the court at Pauley Pavilion.
We need to get BLACKBURN COURT on the court where it can be seen.
Go Flyers!!

OK, my two cents worth on this Piqua....
90+% of the current fans never saw Blackburn, coaching or otherwise
Heck, I would venture to bet that 75% do not even know who or what Blackburn is / was. Keep in mind, most fans are not as smart as us genius types on UDPride.
I do not see it happening.

I am with Piqua, if it is called Blackburn Court then the name should be on the court. I don't disagree that it will not happen. If they were going to do it, they should have done it when the court was redone with the new logo.

It can be done very easily.
It should be on the court.
75% of UK, UL, Houston, Detroit, UCLA etc folks did not see
their court namesake coach either.
If visible on tv the talking heads just might inform the viewers across the nation as to what Tom Blackburn meant to UD.
I just attended the dedication of my alma mater HS gym floor in Madison IN
to my HS coach - THE JACK DWYER COURT- and he is 88 ! Heck I'm one of the last
guys alive who played for him!!!
If an institution makes the dedication it should be visible on national TV
(in the college ranks) and to ALL in the arena/gym.
Go Flyers, beat LaSalle!!

I would bet that many Kansas fans never saw and have no idea who Phog Allen was either. Or NC fans ever seeing Dean Smith.

They can place small but conspicuous letters on the NEW ARENA floor. Call the new court Blackburn Court and we will continue to enjoy the legacy of Tom Blackburn.

Having lived in NC, I can validate that 100% of all High Schools have a statue of Dean Smith in front....he's near deity status in that state.

It used to be visiable on TV, but haven't looked for it recently. It should be visibly and easily seen.

Piqua is right, IMO it is not very visible on tv, and it should be. I'll post a picture later.

Yeah....that wasn't a very good example, was it? How about Hank Iba at Oklahoma State?

I dug thru some pics and google images seemed to have nothing where Blackburn's name could be clearly seen...
I'll agree it should be more viable...
