Richmond's Top Scorer and Rebounder Gone
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/200....ap/index.html
6-9 center Dan Geriot tore a ligament in his knee playing pick up basketball in summer league in Philly. He was the young team's leading scorer and rebounder from last year averaging 14.3 and 5.5, respectively. The Spiders were one of the teams that I thought would be at the top of the league next year. Although they are young, they have some good talent. They have a solid set of guards, one of them being Kevin Anderson, last year's A-10 Rookie of the Year. This is a pretty big loss to them.

It's always unfortunate when a player gets injured, and I'm sure we can all empathize given our season last year. But I don't see this as a good thing for us. Undoubtedly this kid makes Richmond a better ball club, and we need all the help we can get with this schedule (if it turns out to be as lacking in quality opponents as many here believe, but let's not rehash that argument). Either way, it always helps when you beat a better team.

It's never a good thing when anyone gets injured.

Poor kid
I feel bad for the kid. As someone who just spent two and a half hours in the ER watching her daughter get stitches, I could never be happy for someone else's injury no matter if it helped UD or not. That being said, if we lose to Richmond, it will be a bad loss without their top scorer. If we win, it will not be a great win. Though, this season every win is important.

Always hate to see or hear of a kid getting hurt. Have to feel for him.

Bad.
A-10 needs every qualilty player they can get. We need the conference to get respect so we can get some respect.

That is a shame, but at least he has the option of getting a red shirt so he can complete his college basketball career.
Makes you wonder if our guys should be playing in leagues such as Deveroes or not. I think I will have to side with hitting the gym, working on drills, and scrimmages with the team, and oh yeah, free throws.

This is a downer for everyone. Some teams play with the ferocity of a wounded badger after a key injury. Unfortunately UD did not last year after CW's injury. And we need teams with good RPI's to contest' and beat or it does nothing for us either.
