Fordham Game Thread
Shake off the tough loss, as people have said don't let VCU beat you twice... Interesting match-up coming up this week at Rose Hill. Scoochie's last game at Fordham. The Rams got destroyed by Davidson today at home.
Game is on Tuesday at 9 PM and will be shown on the CBS Sports Network.
Starting Lineup:
G 0 Antwoine Anderson 61 190 RS JR Rochester, New York
G 12 Joseph Chartouny 63 205 SO Monreal, Quebec
G 32 Javontae Hawkins 65 211 GS Flint, Michigan
F 43 Christian Sengfelder 67 238 JR Leverkusen, Germany
F 1 Chuba Ohams 68 205 FR Bronx, New York
Hawkins leads their team in pts & reb (over 14 and 5 respectively)... Chartouny is also having a very good year about 11 PPG 4 RPG 5 APG 3.5 SPG
Get it done... Go UD!

What was with all the Fordham kids on Good Morning America today, and all wearing their school shirts?

There may be more Scoochie family and fans in attendance than Fordham fans.

The CBS Sports studio crew is just awful. I'm not sure Jaime Erdahl has ever done this show ever before and Jon Rothstein is simply clueless and annoying with the idiotic cliches he uses on air and on twitter. Rant Over!
Please don't pick up 2 fouls in the first half Scoochie! And if you do hopefully Archie lets you play with those 2 fouls so I don't have to scream at my TV when Crosby turns it over.

I knew Fordham was aggressive on D but they are playing WAY up the line. UD has to go backdoor.

Six turnovers in five minutes! I would yank Mikesell's butt for that weak one-hand pass. I hate that pass!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lazy play by Mikesell on the opening possession. Two turnovers.
We are playing nonchalant on both ends.

I'm about to type something that might get me banned from this board and may sound dumb, but here it goes.
Crosby's out of control driving to the basket might actually work against Fordham's D.

Don't think your supposed to pick up the dribble until you see where you're going to pass it.

9th turnover...this time Scoochie uses the one-hand pass and throws it away. I hate that pass.

Maybe playing in front of all that family is too much pressure for Scoochie because he's not having his best game.

These seniors should not be turning the ball over like this. Against VCU we had 22 turnovers. The problem with turnovers is they turn into baskets.

Fordham is 5-12 on threes. Our 8 turnovers loom big.

Great pass by Cooke and then Xman dribbles it off his foot for another turnover.

Until Fordham hits another 3 and then turns it over for the 11th time. Fordham, of course, hits a 3. 39-36.

This team is so far out of sync. Tied 39 at halftime and the turnovers and poor defense reign again.

Well at least UD got an actual shot out of the use it or lose it timeout.
UD has to stop turning it over and helping off Sengfelder, Slinina, and Chartouny to give up all those 3's

The good: the first half is over and we are not behind as it is tied.
The bad: Our 11 turnovers!
The ugly: Fordham's 9 3s.

they are 9-17 from 3 and UD turned it over 11 time and we have a tie game...could have been down by 10 on these two stats alone

This is where any coaches "defensive principles" can hurt teams. UD's bigs are taught to play this way and have failed to adjust by not helping off the shooting bigs. Hopefully Archie makes the adjustment at the half to tell the bigs to not help/dig off Sengfelder and Slinina.

Seems like every time we get a 5 or 7 point lead, we race down the court, out of control, throw wild passes and turn the ball over. Great ball movement at times but then no discipline. I keep saying Fordham has played and shot as best as they can and we are tied. Fordham can't keep it up all game. But then they did beat VCU.

Yikes. Is there a rule that says we shouldn't at least put a hand up at the arc? I think it's safe to say the guy can hit an uncontested three.

They only shot 53% from three. The bad news is they made 9. X, Pollard and Sam never got in the shooter's face. Well Pollard once.
39 points to a team that is not good offensively, says what??
We are ahead in all the stats, including turnovers 11-5. We have 5 guys with 2 turnovers.
DD the only one with 2 fouls.

Best advice for halftime of CBS Sports games is to switch to another game or ESPN for their halftime highlights. The CBS studio crew is clueless and uses every cliche in the book.

Sengfelter has 16 points and is 6-9 from the field. Good bigs around the A-10 continue to eat our lunch. I would switch Cooke on him.

Yes they can continue hitting 3's- Flyers are not playing any semblence of defense against the 3. They continue and Fordham will end up 18-36 from 3 land

It's a close race right now for which is annoying me more: Fordham's inability to miss a three, Fordham's replica of a high school gym, or those two clowns in the front row across from UD's bench.

Sengfelder is a 34% three shooter. Fordham shoots 33% as a team. The averages will rule in the end.
