Would you rather
1. Lose today and get a #10 or #11 seed (no play in game)
2. Win today and lose tomorrow and get an #8 or #9 seed
Obviously, we want to win the whole tournament. I am just trying to see what the group thinks about the tradeoff between winning and more advantageous positioning in the NCAA tourney. Being a 10 or 11 means we will not stare down the #1 seed if (when?) we advance in the tourney like an 8 or 9 would. And that is what it is all about, right?

Can I vote for win today, tomorrow, and Sunday and get a #7 seed?

I believe that in sports if one starts a line of thought that rationalizes why losing something is better than winning it then it means one is probably thinking too much. The goal is always to win.

I will take the win and the higher seed anytime. If the Flyers would happen to win this tournament, and it is doable if they get by St. Joe's, then their seed could catapult to a 5 or 6...take it.

I would rather never lose. Period.
Is it the first day of April already?

There was not a #3, win win win. And that would be nice and I would want that 100 times over. That is another thread. There is something to be said about coming in with a 11 or 12 vs an 8 or 9.
Another way to look at it, would you be upset with the committee we clearly deserved an 8 but were given an 11? One hand it is the committee being, well, the big conference lookout committee. On the other hand, we were an 11 last time and advanced over #6 WVU. If we get to beat the 9 seed then face Arizona, well...

That would be the best case scenario. Do you project a 7 seed for us if we win the A10?

I could see us as high as a 6 seed if we win the A-10.
One step at a time though

So if it is beneficial to avoid the 8 or 9 seeds, we have to win it all or lose today. I prefer the former, but at least there is a silver lining if (IF) we lose today. I dont want to say that I dread winning today and getting an 8 seed and SJU gets a 10 and a better draw, but that could very well happen.

Arizona (short Ashley) Wichita State (Cant rebound) Florida (ummm...ok ill give you that one) Kansas (short Embiid and reliant on Frosh)
Sign me up. We're Giant Slayers!!
What have we got to lose? No one thought we were going to the tourney anyway!! This is all icing on the cake.
Gotta win that 8-9 first.
Still think when the dust settles we are a 10 or a straight to the bracket 11
