No Game Watching Outside The Arena
Isn't there any online streaming of exhibition game and other games not on national TV?

That's great for the exhibition game. Unfortunately, the A-10 schedule (see following link) doesn't include the Ball State game on November 10 and the schedule on Dayton Flyers.com still shows radio only for that game.

I’m confident it will be streamed. I don’t recall a home game that hasn’t been, (someone will likely correct me), let alone a home opener.

There are always a few games that are hard to get online. Mostly it is the ones shown on the Time Warner (now Spectrum) sports channel, if you live in Ohio.

And if you do live in Ohio you should be able to bypass the Geoblock if you use a VPN(Virtual Private Network). This is also a great way to get around websites that limit the number of articles you can read.

If it is anything like it was last year, you can watch the game on your phone. I use Sprint and it was not blocked by the Geoblock. I did a screen share with my TV and watched from my couch. So, if you are not worried about your data usage, it is a good option.

Go to whio.com and play their audio. Pause the video to allow the audio to catch up and you get game audio.

Isn't it reasonable to expect audio? Btw, who is the awkward BSU lefty who keeps shooting from 30'?

So what happened on the streaming that there was no sound? Does anyone know, or know who to contact to find out.
Year after year the streaming is terrible. You would think with all the technology advances every year, that the UD/A10 would catch up at some point. It's like UD just does not care.

Here is what I did to watch with sound. I had the video feed playing on my laptop. I used my cellphone to play the WHIO feed from the iHeartradio app.
Fortunately the video feed was about 20 seconds ahead of the iheartradio feed. I paused the video feed for about 20 seconds and matched it up with the audio. Not the ideal way but sometimes we need to adapt and overcome.

But in 2017 nobody should have to do this. High Schools do a better job streaming games than UD and the A10.

No doubt, it's just not that hard. The video quality was so poor I eventually just shut it off and listened to WHIO. It's not like I'm on a slow internet connection. I have 150Mbps up and down. I even kept the video on the small window and it would stutter, pause, and was very grainy most of the time.

Totally agree. Just trying to offer a solution until it gets fixed. (if ever...)

I know but I just wanted to point out how absurd it is to have to do that. The pitiful streaming by UD & the A10 is one of my pet peeves.

Did the same exact thing Friday night. Also, when the Flyers are on TV I routinely mute the audio (and predictably terrible announcers) in the 2nd half (to at least hear in the 1st half what the "national" press/opinion is about UD). I stream WHIO via iHeart and go with Larry and Bucky in the 2nd half.
One further annoyance - and I blame it on the WHIO stream - is that you can be in total sync before a timeout and then come to find out after the break that the WHIO stream is either a few seconds ahead or behind video.

My video was excellent throughout out the game. The only issue I had was projecting from my pad onto my tv. There it was broken up on occasion but that was the connection on my end, not the stream.

I guess this is as good a place to ask this as anywhere else, as I can not get the Direct TV website to work right.
Does anyone have the Direct TV basic or sports package, and do you know if they carry ESPNU? What about ESPNnews?
Thanks in advance, where I will be Thursday and Friday Direct is only option available, and trying to decide if I need to drive half hour to find a bar with the game on instead.

It appears you must have at least their third level package of Choice All to get ESPNU and ESPNEWS..
Go to https://www.directv.com/DTVAPP/pepod...ackage-section
Enter your zip code, scroll down and bit and click the "Compare by channels you watch" button. In the search field type in ESPNU or ESPNEWS.
