Last time we beat a ranked team on their home floor?
Obviously beating a ranked Billikens team on the road on Senior night is a tall order. We've certainly had several home and neutral court wins over ranked teams in the last ten years or so, but I am racking my brain to think of the last ranked ream we beat on their floor. The Depaul game in the 84-85 season when
Sedric Toney hit 6 straight free throws to seal the game is all that comes to mind.
I am sure we've done it since but I am drawing a blank. Little help?

Ranked 11th according to the Media Guide. Dec. 18, 2007. More than 6 years ago. 15-66 all time on the road versus ranked teams.

Oh, we beat them in Cincinnati too. But that was technically a neutral court game.
Let's get this big W tonight. Play our way in instead of out of tournament consideration.

We also played a game against Louisville in USBank Arena as well. I was there and it was awesome.

I am thinking the U of L game in Cincy, was technically considered the UD home game of that two game contract with the Cardinals. Even though the tickets were split. But maybe not?? Anyone have a clarification on that? It was no neutral court, but I thought UD and U. of L. acted as if that was like UD's version of a home game.

U of L agreed only to a contract of neutral and home. UD won both games. The game in Cincinnati was considered neutral. The arena was evenly split and filled with red shirts from both teams. Louisville fans were loud (when they had something to cheer about that night). UD fans were also loud, but we had much more to cheer about.
Both wins were very good. I seem to recall that Louisville was a bit depleted in the first game in Cincinnati.

Who else was at the River-Front coliseum for the "Pre-Season NIT" to see the Flyers against Tulsa in game one; and, then Karlton Clayborne and Ron Harper's Miami Redskins played a nationally ranked Louisville team to the wire. Flyers lost a close one too.
Who else was at that one?

Yes, C-A-R-D-S in your ear...all day long. I was right on the stairwell at mid-court dividing the two fan-bases...total noise pollution.
That's the day coach gregory poked-fun at "Mr. Expensive Suit" who coaches that other team.

Exactly Buster, that's what I have been trying to stress on this board for the past nine years. We are past due...that's the frustration. When will the next generation of a Flyer- run in the big dance happen? Or will it ever? Now is our chance, not "Next Year", because it never gets here.

Expand on that statement where BG poked fun at the other teams Coach. I don't remember that story, and it sounds like it might be a good one!

Whatever team wins tonight it won't be a last second shot. Don't think the outcome will be in doubt after the first ten mins. Lets just hope we're on the right side of the score at 9:30.

It was weird! Never EVER in my life did I expect to be cheering against Louisville in any sport, especially in basketball and especially in Freedom Hall. I was born and raised a Cardinal fan. Very strange experience for me.

The Dayton fans should have stormed the court just like St. Louis did when they won at home during Chris Wrights sophomore year.
Just kidding.

In the "It's only weird if it doesn't work" category:
There was an Alumni game watch for the UD @ Louisville game in the party room at BW3 in Kettering.

What was just as good as getting the win was seeing the joy and happiness on the players' faces at the end of the game. That is very nice to see...that's the type of stuff that's gets the team closer and generates runs
