Prayers for Courtney Siebenaller

Don't know if many have heard about this but Courtney Siebenaller, UD's outstanding pole vaulter, suffered a horrific broken leg when landing her last attempt at a meet over the weekend. An article that I read described her injury as similar to what happened to Joe Thiesmann on Monday night football years ago. Prayers that she has a full a speedy recovery. And congratulations on an outstaning career at UD.

Goodness- That is tough to hear.

She was the A-10 champion in the indoor track meet just a couple of weeks ago - and had won the event twice before.

She was one of only a couple of UD track athletes competing last weekend at Notre Dame for one last chance to qualify for the NCAA indoor championships.

On a side note - you read the UD writeup on last week's meet and it says nothing about what happened. I know the HIPPA rules prevent saying much but jeesh. Apparently she had just cleared her best height of the season (3.09 meters or 12' 11") and was trying for 4.09 meters (13' 5""). At that height I would guess one is competing on the edge.
