Game recap:

The good news: we gave up just one goal and tied a (better) team that was 7-2. When we solve the 2-goal conundrum, we give ourselves a fighting chance. Mink's goal was terrific. A. Kiehl gives you everything she has. She's an undersized forward going up against bigger more physical defenders almost every game. But the woman will lay it out there for you. When she turns on the jets, she's dangerous. She just needs soooo much help.
The overall quality of play however remains, welp, poor. Jimmys and Joes, Janes and Jo's. We can MIT the problem all we like but it comes down to talent. I now understand the frustration of so many opposing A10 fans over the last 20 years vs Dayton -- they were just over their heads. There are too many personnel over their heads on the field for too long of stretches. Simple passing and trapping is a huge obstacle for us. Too many players play with no awareness of anything beyond a 3ft radius of their own body -- eyes down and unaware.
I don't see any quick fixes. Just need to keep grinding and continue to hope we can keep the score down. If we do that, tonight is proof that we can get some results. There are results on the schedule to be had, that's for sure. But, nothing will come easy. We will make sure of that ourselves.
