Dems apparently want more welfare recipients since not one applauded the fact that we have greatly reduced these numbers.

Notice how defiant Pelosi ripped up Trump's address at the end.

You can disagree with a person. You can think a person is a complete POS. To sit there and have a temper tantrum on national tv, regardless of political party is simply amazing.

Obviously this is an indication of the leader of the Democratic party and the reason why they are so far gone. Her behavior, and others, is exactly why the GOP is going to have sound byte after sound byte until November.

The worst part about today for the democrats is the fact that someone like Tulsi Gabbard...who could actually bring the left to where it needs to be in order to appeal to independents and libertarians...gets zero love in Iowa.

This is going to be a complete mess.

It's crazy watching the Democratic continue to self implode. They are clueless to how they damaging their own self interests.

Trump refused to shake Pelosi's hand at the beginning...the disrespect went both ways, although I side more with Trump on this tit for tat due to the impeachment being illegitimate imo.

Both sides need to learn how to get along.

While I don't disagree the lack of a handshake was a big FU to her. With that said, I am not shaking hands with anyone who does things behind my back or to my face. My enemies in my personal life don't get handshakes either. Personally or professionally.

The tearing up of the speech wasn't an FU. It was an temper tantrum because shes got nothing else.

And not to mention...did Pelosi announce Trump to the Chamber?

Last time I checked that was protocol and Boehner did it for Obama...

She did, didn't she? In the 2nd video above, after he refuses to shake her hand, she announces him. Or was there supposed to be an announcement by her before that?

Iíll agree that the President should have shaken the Speakerís hand when she extended it. That would have served as a sign of civility, which is all too lacking in todayís political environment.

That said, Speaker Pelosiís actions at the end of the SOTU address were totally out of line. They were childish and immature, and did nothing to inspire confidence that she or any of her colleagues has either the mindset or the temperament to be a leader of my country.

Itís almost as if, for every acidic tweet that Trump issues, Pelosi says, ďHold my beer.Ē

I should have said the customary introduction. Which she isn't going to give due to her personal opinions. I know it is being petty, but this is how the introduction has been as part of tradition:

"Members of Congress, I have the high privilege and distinct honor of presenting to you the President of the United States."

I know it is petty. But this just goes to show how no one can put crap to the side in the name of institutional traditions.

The bottom line. She is not in control. She has little to no control. When you aren't the big dog, sometimes you have to eat crow. They are going to eat crow tomorrow. Will fail to legislate for the remainder of his term. The list will go on and on and on.

Sometimes these government types need to realize that you aren't always going to be in a position of power and what goes around comes around. I am pretty sure the GOP remembers quite fondly how Obamacare was thrown down through the throats of American through improper use of the Judicial system. How quickly the left forgets. Now it is their turn to take it.

Yes, you are correct.

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/02/04/u...handshake.html:

Then Ms. Pelosi dealt Mr. Trump a slight of her own by omitting the customary laudatory words in her introduction of the president. Normally, she would have said, “I have the high privilege and distinct honor of presenting to you the president of the United States.”

Instead, she said simply, “Members of Congress, the president of the United States.”

Yesterday was not a good choice for Nancy to act like a petulant child, as she likes to call Trump.

If you're a political independent, it would be hard to watch that speech and not go to bed leaning a little more to the right. Considering what happened in Iowa, the Stock Market and now add in her behavior, I'd say Trump had a pretty good day. And today the Stock futures are pointing higher and the Impeachment vote will acquit Trump, it's safe to say The Donald is having a pretty good week. It's safe to say that America is having a pretty good week, too.

The only question for the rest of the week/month is how will the Dems stop the momentum?

I saw a shot of Schiff and Nadler sitting together. They looked like they were waiting for a root canal.

There is a laundry list of great accomplishments by Trump that have resulted in peace and prosperity for the country. The Democrats were not at all excited that the country is doing great. It seems they prefer their own power over the countries success.

Nancy could have searched out one of the guests in the audience and given him/her her copy of the speech. She could have signed it if that was important to the recipient and she could have asked Trump to sign it, if he hadnít already.

There was some speculation that Trump did not see her extended hand and some social media users pointed out that he did not shake Vice President Pence's hand, who was next to Pelosi.

Trump did an awesome job on the speech. One of the best in my lifetime because it focused on real factual accomplishments, and not some theoretical wish list. Secondly, the human emotional side of it was top notch.

Whoever wrote the ending lines is to be commended.

I think he did well to ignore the impeachment crap. The ending was very well written.

- Rush Limbaugh has done nothing to deserve the award he was given. This is the same award Ronald Reagan bestowed on Mother Theresa.

- Trump likes to indicate the "record stock market gains" in his tenure. His first 3 years lag Clinton's, Obama's and the extreme leader - FDR. BTW, I understand that the Stock Market and the economy are 2 different animals. One does not reflect the other. For example - 2019 was a 29% SM gain - economy activity - 2.1% - which was slower than last 3 years of Obama.

Overall, things are good for a lot of people, which would indicate a fairly easy re-election for Trump.

In seriousness it is to honor the garb that women suffragists wore while fighting for the right to vote.

It is extremely difficult to fully grasp and quantify economic activity in a system with real spending and transfer spending (welfare, food stamps, etc.)
It's like the scenario where a guy leaves a hundred on the hotel desk for a room. The guy goes upstairs to check if the room meets his approval. While he's gone, the clerk takes the hundred across the street to pay the butcher for some meat . The butcher races back to the hotel with the hundred to pay for a recent stay. Everyone paid for a service but was their any productivity?
As for today's economy, we can agree that the perception is that it (economy) is on solid ground. You can argue the case one way or another but perception is reality...especially when someone's pocketbook is involved!

I agree that perception is reality. This Forbes article uses data vs. perception.

Chuck Jones is known for his anti-Trump slant now and in the past.

Thank you Chuck Jones. It is like picking out one stat of a basketball game and emphasizing it. "We lost by 20, but outscored them in the second half." Chuck, list the total comparative package and stop with the cherry picking of stats.

I thought that too as he was turning away as she excited l extended her hand. Could go both ways.

How many times has that happened to any one of us walking by someone and are a half step past them when they extend a hand?

Either way. As I said before. If a coworker has been MFing me in the building for the last three years, I'm not shaking their hand at the annual staff meeting. I don't care what stage it is on.

So if swimpy shows up at the royal rectangle table, do you shake his hand or tear up the menu?

I thought that Nancy was tearing up the Constitution or the Articles of Impeachment when I first saw it.

Game time decision. Lol. Just kidding. I'd shake his hand. We at least are both Flyer fans. Pelosi isn't a fan of anything that Trump likes. Like America.
