Jenna Burdette
So sad to think in another week we won't see Harris, Layfield or Burdette in a UD uniform at home anymore. Jenna now has 1242 points in seventeenth place all time - 13 points move her past Stefanie Miller and 27 points put her in 15th place ahead of Christie Hester. No idea how the point guard position will stack up next year but it'll only be natural to think at times "Wish Jenna were still here."

Felt the same way when Ross graduated.
And then Raterman.
And then Hoover and Malott.
And then Deane.
And then Austria.
And now Burdette and Layfield.

I have never felt as confident with anyone as Jenna when she takes a three and that includes the men. I am surprised when she misses.

Speaking of confidence - The Shauna hire appears to have been a real winner. I know she won both the A-10 regular season and tournament last year after getting hired just before the season started. Still, you need a few years to judge a new hire. The continued success this year adds to what was accomplished last year. Right now, not making the dance this year would be a real disappointment. If she can add good recruiting to all that she has accomplished, one would think the sky is the limit.

I agree totally. I like her style of play way more than Jabir's. Sometimes with Jabir defense was an afterthought, except for Edwards and Austria. No doubt the Mallott and Hoover duo was better than what we now have, but now we have three very good players.
Shauna has a ways to go on her recruiting, but as a bench coach, and improving her players, she gets an "A" from me.

Let's not forget Harris though offensively challenged at times it seems her play around the rim is improving and we'll definitely miss her rebounding next year along with Layfield.

Yes losing 20 rebounds a game will be harder to replace than the 20 point a game! How many team would take 20/20 out of their post and sf positions.

Shauna has Fowler who is rehabbing all this year, and Giacone in the same boat. Then the South Carolina PG transfer who was a Top-40 HS recruit. It will be interesting no doubt, but some other players will be older too. Cannatelli a senior, Scaife a junior. Wilmoth will probably move into the starting lineup. Chandler the Top-100 Syracuse transfer will be eligible.
BTW Giacone is running 100% body weight now on the gravity treadmill.
Will be a very different looking team.

I'm probably wrong but I could see Scaife playing a little PG next year also.

Based on the team rosters it looks like both Burdette and Harris played for 'Team 3' at today's professional exposure 'combine' during the WBB Final Four in Columbus.

I mentioned in another thread a while ago that Jenna Burdette was retained by the new coach at Marshall. Today I saw a post by her buddy, Javonna, congratulating her on being promoted to the Associate Head Coach position!

Great fit for her since she's from that area.
