Just A Hypothetical
Who would you keep for next year?
Cunnigham - hell yes
Cruthcer -- hell yes
J Davies-- yes
X -- yes
Kostas -- nope, but on the cusp of maybe
Svoboda -- nope
Pierce - nope
Crosby - nope
This is just a hypothetical post of "if you could" do it
I have no idea what UD can or cannot do with scholarship players
Thoughts?

Keep Trey, Crutcher and Josh. J. Davis is on the maybe wire after previously being a yes from me. He needs to step up.
S***can everyone else.
And, if AG can't find a way to motivate players and/or start winning some strategic coaching battles, he can hit the road too.
Man, I hope Mikesell, Obi and our recruit(s) come ready to go next year.

Given this year's play? I'm going to have to agree. He needs to man up. Like, a bunch!

You know what I want Kostas to do? Stop trash talking everyone after his occasional good play to the point of getting T'd up. It's happened a handful of times. Honestly, it puts a bad taste in my mouth.
Focus on your game, which let's face it, has plenty of room for improvement. He's usually trash talking someone that's smoking him on the floor.
I have an odd suspicion that chemistry and morale aren't great on the team anyways. We don't need that kind of help.

You can't give up on Kostas. Too much athleticism and talent. Plus its very difficult to develop and improve when your coach gives you such inconsistent minutes.

Reality is, any player that wants to stay, stays. You can't go developing a reputation for forcing every recruit out after one season.
I hear the question, and understand the desire, but there is zero way in heck you can tell 50% of a roster you are no longer welcome because of one 500 season.

Sorry, but what talent are you providing evidence of? I didn't say "give up", just on the cusp which simply means SHOW ME! BIG Steve (RIP) was light years ahead of Kostas

I'm sorry Donnie, I really wasn't lecturing you personally; but rather I have heard numerous folks suggest that 3 or 4 players are automatically gone. To me, that's crazy talk.
I hate to even participate in a hypothetical exercise like this....at the collegiate level.

A more interesting question might be which players are the most, or completely un-happy with the coaching staff. As the true freshman seem to be getting along with staff much better than several veteran members of the program.

It depends on who you have lined up to fill the scholarships. I've got no problem running guys off if you need the scholarship for someone else. Running off guys just to get rid them serves no real purpose unless the guy is a cancer to the lockerroom.

All of you ready to give up on Kostas are just frustrated. This is that kind of season- I find myself also frustrated despite having no expectations for the season. I taped the game and just watched it as I was returning from out of town and I had to fast forward thru it. SLU had the most horrid style of ball I've ever seen (brute strength without much else, and a lucky night shooting 3's), and our inability to respond to it was not watchable. But getting back to Kostas- he flashes most games, can intimidate as a shot blocker and is worth the investment.

Trey- nope- gotta go . Are you thinking we can't upgrade. He's at best a sixth man.
Kostas- can't give up on what could be vast potential.
X , what has he done all year that merits retention? The answer is.... Wait for it..... Nothing!
MS , see ya.
Crosby- almost three years of complete futility. Maryland Eastern shore is calling!
Cunningham- a really good player. Hope he stays, we have nothing without him. We'd be A flaming train wreck, RPI 300.
J Davis- too new to rate but, really really really disappointing since we entered conference play.

well said Beatty. This thread can be deleted. My only thought was "who would you want" back. Poorly stated...

Almost agree with everything you said except for the lucky 3 point shooting part. When every lousy 3 point shooting team lights it up against you, it's not luck, it's defense.

OMG, a freshman isn't putting up All-American numbers for us, time for him to go! I remember the team to the south's fan base going crazy nuts after they started having some success. They went from good natured, knowledgable fans, to complete nutjobs overnight. I hoped and prayed the Dayton fans wouldn't go down that road, but after 4 NCAA years that produced ONE Elite 8, looks like us fans are heading down the pecan road.
