BEVERLY HILLS (MI) -- Well now, this whole trip to Orlando for the Old Spice Classic is turning out a little bit better than most of us expected when the Flyers’ hoop season began, no? You gotta love the fact that different guys have stepped up in each of the first two tilts to lead the Flyers to victory.
Here are some thoughts and links while we wait until Sunday at 6:30PM to watch the Flyers face the Gophers on ESPN2:
-- Why in the world did Stags’ coach Sidney Johnson get T’d up at a crucial point towards the end of the Fairfield game? His big guy was headed to the FT line and yet he went ballistic. Something here does not compute.
-- The south suburban Chicago law firm of Parker and Dillard got a nice mention on ChicagoHoops.com recently:

-- The “From the Swamp” verdict on the new blue road unis the Flyers are sportin’ in Orlando: Almost (but not quite) as cool as the black ones UD wore on the road to the NIT Championship. Definite keepers, tho.
-- Seeing 750 of the
Flyer Faithful cheering on the Red and Blue in Orlando only serves to show why UD fans are the best. So does this

-- Don’t ever think that the UD coaching staff doesn’t notice the sea of red in the stands, because they do. Here’s a Tweet from Assistant Coach Kevin Kuwik after the Fairfield win:
“I thought yesterday was impressive, Flyer Nation came even stronger today - we needed every ounce of that support.”

-- Don’t look now but the Pominator had the Flyers ranked #65 after their victory over Wake Forest and that should go up with their defeat of #83 Fairfield:

As Mike Hartsock of Channel 7 would say "Check that." The Flyers only went up one spot to #64 after beating the Stags. They should ascend more than that after a victory over the Golden Gophers.

That’s it “From the Swamp.”
