The Dayton Flyers hosted in-state D-III member Capital University on Saturday night and motored to an uneventful 76-55 victory against a Comet team coached by former Flyer great and one-time Anthony Grant teammate Damon Goodwin. UD stays unblemished at 4-0 while CU drops to 2-1.
The Flyers and Comets tangled in a regular season game for the first time since the 1928-29 season, though the pair has battled in recent years during the exhibition season as mutual tune-ups.  Goodwin picked up his 450th win last week -- all at Capital (450-306) -- while Grant was looking for career win 346 and 153rd as head coach of his alma mater. Designated as an exhibition game for Capital, the mother of all upsets wouldn't count on Goodwin's resume' as a victory had the Comets pulled off the unthinkable.  It didn't matter.
