Funny thing is, this is true but not in the way people here think ...

(PS: Hunter's laptop, still a fake, but people here will swear it's the key to a global pedophile ring that doesn't include Matt Gaetz and half the Florida GOP)

How do we know it's a fake? It's locked inside a vault somewhere within the totally saintly FBI hq isn't it? It is not to be examined until Biden is no longer in office, lol.

Considering the FBI supposedly had it for a year before we even knew about it and Rudy Giuliani had copies of it that he distributed ... yeah, not going to hold my breath on it being real.

And right on cue, Rudy has a search warrant executed against him at his residence and his electronic devices seized.

As George Conway said about a comment on the warrant:

This is such an important point. The predicate for this search of the premises of a lawyer who represented a president must, as a practical matter, go way beyond probable cause

Looks like the FBI is also at Victoria Toensing's house today. Lawyer, wife and partner of Joe DiGenova. Possibly related to the Rudy raid.

So who else is excited to see the quarterly inflation numbers when they come out in a couple months for the 2nd quarter? Our booming economy of the last few years will come to a screeching halt. Lack of workers throughout the work force thanks to continued government handouts for those who do not want to be productive members of society is just one of many reasons.

Keep inflation under control? Good luck with that. I work in purchasing for a small, local manufacturer, and just in this past week, we got hit with price increases of 10%-20% on some critical materials needed for our products. And, since many of these are “custom” materials that are unique to our customers’ products, we’re left with no choice but to raise our prices to our customers. Then they, in turn, must raise their prices to their customers, and so on, and thus: welcome to “inflation”.

Yup, that’s how inflation works. It’s yet to be seen if this is happening across the board or your supplier of “custom” materials feel like they’ve monopolized the market and can get more for their products. The reopening of the economy will cause some prices to go up, this is to be expected and good. The key is to prevent inflation from occurring at a scale that can’t be managed using the usual levers the feds have at their disposal.

The suppliers to whom I referred are in competitive markets, but they use custom tooling that must be validated in order for the parts to be produced. A move of the business to a different supplier would require said different supplier to produce new tooling, and submit samples with process validations to us, which we then need to incorporate into our product for validation by our customers. Slight price increases, they can always pass-through with minimal risk of losing the business. Radical price increases, however, are cause for a re-evaluation of our supply base...unless the materials markets are in a general state of significant inflation. And my industry is in the early stages of such an inflationary cycle right now.

Covid resulted in major shifts in supply chains and it will take time, probably a year, to shift back. Cars are in short supply because of supply chain issues. The key question is whether or not this burst in inflation reflects a temporary period of readjustment as the Fed predicts (hopes) or if it lasts and becomes difficult to control.

No one has the answer. One worrisome note is this. The supply chain issues will regain balance. But consumers have tons of money resulting from significantly reduced spending over the past year and the excessive Goverment relief checks. That suggests that demand may overcome supply for quite awhile driving prices up. But even that should not last too long.

Again,...no one knows and life is full of surprises. (Think Covid). Powell has said the Fed is willing to tolerate and would even welcome inflation above the 2% target for awhile before raising interest rates. I wonder how long "awhile" is. Low rates are good for businesses and some people...but are killing savers and those that rely on interest income in retirement.

What a dumbass!

“ The reason I'm bothering to do this is I keep hearing in the press 'Biden's going to raise your taxes' - anybody making less than $400,000 a year will not pay a single penny in taxes," Biden said.

Another lie? No, just mental incompetence.

C’mon Jack. Biden’s talked about this a hundred times already. Just because he omitted one word from the sentence this one time doesn’t mean he’s lying or mentally incompetent. Have you never done something like this? I know I have. More than once.

I have done it several times, but not continuously like Joe has, and hey he is the President, not your grandpa. No room for mental incompetence in that office.

Speaking of inflation, the price of gas a year ago was $1.78/gal. It is now $2.91. That effects everybody and almost everything.

Is there a difference to you if Biden takes away your wealth via taxation or via designed inflation? How much will inflation affect those making less than $400,000 per year?

You may want to consider that when you go to the polls to vote Kamala vs. Trump.

Don't worry - Biden said anyone making less than 400,000.00 will not have to pay any taxes.

This is not inflation. This is return to normal post-COVID. Let's be real. When the country shut down last year, there was no demand for gasoline. The price went down. Now that the country has opened back up, there is demand for gasoline, the price went up. If you were to look back at 2019, it was up around that same mark.

Did he really say that anyone making less that 400K will not have to pay any taxes? Would like to have your source on this one.

President Joe Biden said in a Monday gaffe that anyone making less than $400,000 annually wouldn’t pay a “single penny” in taxes under his plan.

Biden is a terrible president and will do something that I didn't think was possible, be worse than Jimmy Carter. However, everyone knows he omitted a word and meant to say that people under 400k income won't pay an additional penny of taxes. As a final "however" I will say that this is BS also because when the corporations pay more taxes everybody pays. Either directly if they own stocks or indirectly through higher prices.

Agree...he is not telling the whole story...the corporate tax increases will hurt everybody at every level of income thru higher prices caused by higher costs caused by higher taxes. Seems like a terrible idea to raise corporate taxes.

They know raising taxes on individuals is unpopular, so they stick it to the corporations, it is the only way they can find more money to spend.

Not to mention corporations fleeing the higher taxes and moving to other lower-tax countries, taking valuable jobs with them.

Huh? That may be the reason, but any price increase to consumers is inflation.

Where are you seeing that? Per the eia link, spring of 2020, the start of the pandemic, the price was $2.25 maybe, now it's $3.

Oh good lord...if you want to demonstrate that inflation is here to stay, GAS is the worst example of inflation that you could use.

Look at the past and current cost of twinkies, cheerios and beer - items I assume most UDPriders consume regularly - if you really want to prove your point. Gas prices are 99.999% supply/demand with the across-the-street competition playing a small role, too.

King Rollo the Twinkie...OUT!

Look at the month by month break down and compare 2019 with 2021. April 2021 was 6.7 cents higher than April 2019, less than the current rate of inflation.

I love to roast sniffy Joe and the libs as much as anyone, but I believe in using accurate facts when doing so. Especially given my track record of calling out a couple of our resident libs on multiple occasions for posting and making claims that in 10 seconds I could prove wrong using actual facts, not just the daily liberal rags headlines.

I'm willing to bet they are all vaccinated, and they took their masks off just for the photo op.

All vaccinated people can do what these fine folks are doing with minimal risk. If you have not gotten vaccinated, let this be your motivation to do us all a favor and go get your shot.

What does 2019 have to do with anything? We are talking about the pre-covid/spring 2020 price of gas vs. the current price of gas. $2.25-ish then vs. $3-ish now.

Biden is all over the place on Covid and masks/precautions. He talks about how he is going to wear a mask outside regardless of being vaccinated. It's a "patriotic duty". Then he goes indoors and does not wear a mask for photo ops.

He declares rules and then abruptly violates them. See the mandates about federal property and the subsequent shedding of the mask for photo ops hours later at the Lincoln Memorial.

If the entire White House and staff are vaccinated, why are they putting on a show with masks and social distancing some of the time, and then shedding them when it is convenient and putting out mixed messages?

What are we to make of all the grandstanding and gobbley-gook? The messages he is sending are confused, as if he was utterly confused himself. At this point, why would anyone be putting any stock in the garbage flowing out of his mouth on Covid?

Look at the month by month chart. If you want to play your game of comparing "precovid" to now, Feb 2020 before lock downs started @ 2.53 versus April 2021 @ 2.94 would be the right months to use. 41 cents

Then look over the chart and almost every year in the 2000's the price has jumped from winter time lows in February to much higher prices in April regardless of which political party resides on Pennsylvania Ave, typically a good 30 cents to as much as a 50 cent jump. Comparing the same months year to year is the most accurate way to judge.

Even NBC on the Today show had a feature on the Border Crises. They described the flow as relentless. When asked, the agents said, it is a crisis, and out of control. State and local law enforcement are down there helping the Feds, so they cannot do their regular patrols. The crossing and rafts are continuous and increasing.

The White House response is that it is a seasonal thing, and that the President has a plan and is implementing it... Seriously Joe??

Inflation

Inflation Fears Grow as Commodity Prices Take Off

The widespread commodity shortages creep into various parts of the supply chain, raising production costs for many companies such as Procter & Gamble, Kimberly-Clark, and Coca-Cola. Last week, billionaire investor Warren Buffett, known as the Oracle of Omaha, joined many business owners who are sounding an alarm over growing inflationary pressures.

“We are seeing very substantial inflation,” Buffett said during his company’s famous annual shareholder meeting on May 1.

I will look at it, but now you are changing the argument.

Don't worry.

Kamala is going to make Honduras so nice that the open border into the USA with "free everything" will no longer appeal to potential illegal immigrants.

It's a great plan!

All vaccinated people can do what these fine folks are doing with minimal risk. If you have not gotten vaccinated, let this be your motivation to do us all a favor and go get your shot.
C'mon now!

If this was Donald and Melania Trump, you would be all over them for poor Covid messaging. And UAC would tell us that Trump just lost the Georgia Senate race due to this photo.

No, the argument did not change. The original poster claimed inflation was the cause of gas prices going up, Figgie pointed out it was a correction from lack of demand due to Covid a year ago that lead to lower prices then, you know the old supply and demand. On top of that, as the chart I posted clearly demonstrates supply and demand affects price on a yearly basis as gas usage and prices go up as the summer months approach. Yes a know a few other things factor into this as well, but it happens every year.

If in August I buy three farm fresh tomatoes at my local road side produce stand for $1. Then pay $1 each for "farm fresh" tomatoes in January, is that 300% inflation too?

First off, by Trump's twisted logic, a picture like this with the president on his knees would make him look weak, so he would never allow a photographer to take it. Second, there's a light year worth of daylight between this picture and hitting the body with a powerful light or cleansing with a bleach disinfectant inside the body.

No, we are not talking about any of that stuff, we are strictly talking about the price of gas in spring 2020, $2.25, vs. now, $3. I have no idea why you are bringing 2019 or anything else into this.

That’s because the DNC and those loyal to the DNC believe in Government over God.

“Employers adding a measly 266,000 new jobs - sharply missing Wall Street's expectations - amid a growing shortage of available workers.
The unemployment rate unexpectedly rose to 6.1% — while it's still well below the April 2020 peak of 14.7%, it's about twice the pre-crisis level, the Labor Department said in its monthly payroll report, released Friday.”

Still 8 million jobs short of where Trump had us pre-pandemic. Biden’s welfare giveaways are really working.

When the reward for non-work is greater than the reward for work, labor shortages result. Shortages are occuring in the food service and manufacturing industries as a result. Imagine what will occur if any sort of guarenteed annual wage in implemented.
