In another thread it was noted she was no longer on the roster. She’s landed at tOSU. Don’t read too much into that jump from the A10 to the Big. First her mom was a very good setter at tOSU. Second they got a new coach this year. A woman who I think followed Vondran’s mom as setter at tOSU. Plus her dad was a swimmer at tOSU.

This is a “Jacob Toppin” kind of move. Josie was a walk on at UD. She came in and worked hard and got a lot better. Once she got some playing time, she beat out Brooke Westbeld and helped the Flyers. But it was a close call between the two. Moving up to the Big you face the best back row defenders in the country and the best blockers in the country. And former Flyers will be asked to put up a strong block to stop very talented hitters, like the 6’ 8” middle at Wisconsin.
I think both Brooke and Josie will struggle against that competition, but for various reasons. I’m not sure either will start. Brooke needed this spring to learn the system and work with hitters. That didn’t happen. Her biggest issues at UD were decision making and placement for her hitters. Placement takes time working with each hitter. Decision making takes time working with a coach and video to get better. Indiana has a very good sophomore 6’ setter that saw action last year. Brooke really needed the spring.
At tOSU, they played a 6-2 last year and both setters return. The back row setter will be a senior and the front row setter a sophomore who was highly recruited out of high school and played well last year. A new coach means a new system, but Josie will be behind the curve because she’s never worked with any of the hitters. If the new coach goes with a 5-1, Josie would have to play the back row on three rotations and serve. She has no experience at that at the A10 level, let alone in the Big. I don’t see her starting. She would have at UD.
