He's still only shooting 27% from 3 this year. That would make him the worst shooter on our team from 3, including one of the 2 walk ons who has attempted a 3.
He's taken 76 3's, which would make him the most prolific shooter on the team by volume by a margin of 25% (Crutcher 61).
Enjoy the MAC, Williams.

I loved Coach Grant as a player; and I was all for his hire; but ironically, I think Williams had a coach here at UD that will give folks the green light on threes. But that wasn't the real problem. He simply didn't want to "play"; as he did not and was not willing to sacrifice, play where needed, and put the team in front of his own selfish mediocracy.
His development was hurt by going to Wayne. That's not a knock on Wayne, but rather an observation by all the coaches in his home area; that he should have stayed in home district to play, and therefore develop his frontline skill set; of which he has very little; because he loves "Jacking the three ball".
Let's just say, in basketball terms, he is no Pride of Beatty; and its much better for all parties that he departed the Dayton Flyers.

does anyone recall a game, where
Dayton was behind by more than 20 points...
and there was X on the bench laughing

all others dead serious...seem to recall that

Why are we still talking about X Williams two years on? We've got great things on our current team and new recruits to discuss that are much more interesting than Crosby and Williams.

lol, please, this "point" you were trying to make? Was it that XW wouldn't fit in our starting lineup this year? Okay, let me go into fantasy mode and pretend he stayed and was eligible for a 5th season. WOW, what a revelation!!! XW would not crack the starting lineup of the currently 13th ranked Dayton Flyers. And water is wet and the sun will both rise and set tomorrow.
Thanks for your great revelation. I'm sure there's someone on this board that thought otherwise until you made that great point.
So, if I missed the point, it's because I assumed your point wasn't so flippin obvious and not worth making. Heck, I was giving you more credit than you deserved. You should thank me not ridicule me.

I seem to recall it, but I couldn’t tell you which game it was. The only game I remember specifically where we had a$$hats on the bench yukking it up during a “hurtful” loss was the 2014 game at Rhody, when the guilty parties were Dumb and Dumber, and our record in-con was in the process of dropping to 1-4. It fell to 1-5 before the team turned the season around and went on that Elite Eight run.

Okay dude, whatever. I mean, if you want to get hung up discussing some kid who left two years ago, that's your call. Just don't see the point when there's a million other things about the Flyers you could be discussing. Seriously, does anyone actually care about what X Williams is doing at Akron?

I am definitely interested. I am interested in how anyone that was a player here at one time is doing. Heck, I've always rooted for Andre Iguodala, just because he is Franks brother. lol.
I'm not saying I am actively rooting for or against X Williams, Crosby or anyone else that left, but I am happy to read a "where are they now" update.

X is doing well at Akron and good for him either finding the right level of team to play for or learning, growing and maturing from his time at Dayton. That’s what we should want for all the young men that come thru UD for even one year. Heaven knows we’ve seen the opposite side of that coin in Dumb and Dumber. I for one don’t want to any of these young men to crash and burn when they have the talent to have their college degree paid for playing a game they love and an opportunity to settle into a solid career and life down the road. Don’t waste it.
After 10 games he is averaging 14.4 points and 10 rebounds.

It translated for me but it had the typical translation issues - Dayton University instead of University of Dayton. The same thing often happens in English to English translations.

To this day I think the worst thing that happened to Robinson and himself, were to go to college together. When you got two friends who've gone through thick and thin together, a lot of it on the wrong track, having them together in next life stage can only make it harder for them to grow out it. I have a feeling that if only one came to Dayton and the other went elsewhere, both would have been on the right track a lot sooner and they and UD basketball wouldn't have had to go through that mess.

Some guys want to be contributors on a winning team.
Some guys would rather be the star on a team that sucks.

no one ever said different...
virtually every player on that roster has
more turnovers than assists....
the speed of the game in the A10 was too
much for him...
also, didn't he have a sick relative and wanted
to be closer to home, if memory serves me...
best of luck, John

Sam Miller seems to be playing well based on their boxscores. But man when I watched one of their games early in the year he looked very out of place and like he didn't belong on a Division 1 court.

For those of you scoring at home:
XW is shooting 29.7% from 3 for the year, 60-202. 202!!! Crutcher has taken 154.
After a 7 game stretch where he went a scorching 25-46 (54%), he has gone 7-54 (13%) in his last 8 games. In the last game, while in the midst of this massive slump, he went 0-8. Maybe it's time to get to the FT line?? Just a thought.

yes, there are other ways to contribute besides
3 point shooting... 7 for his last 54, rebound,
work it inside... get to the FT line you are exactly
right....

My opinion on X is that he is a selfish player, more concerned with showing everyone he can shoot threes than being part of a team. And that is probably why he is not a Flyer.
However, he did hit that big shot at URI a couple of years ago so he will always be cool in my book.

I have been thinking about Xeryrius Williams leaving since Dayton has been recruiting 6’8 / 6’9” recruits. I believe that Mr. Williams leaving was a big mistake for everyone. Xeryius Williams will always be remembered as the guy that left.

I'll always remember those back to back threes he hit to beat Rhody and I'll always remember that great pass he threw to Josh Cunningham to give the Flyers a miracle win against Ball St. in CAG's first game here.
He clashed with CAG's coaching style and I'll give anyone a break who stays during a coaching change and then leaves because it doesn't fit.

Wow, by today's standards, this is ancient history. What made him pop into your mind? Xeryius was better at Fortnite than he was at basketball. Time to move on and talk about winning the ESPN Orlando Tournament.

I miss him like a root canal with no anesthetic. The guy gave up on the Flyers. All he wanted to do is fling three-point shots irrespective of the situation. He had no desire to improve his inside game and become a real force. Sorry, I wish him well but have never missed the guy.
