BEVERLY HILLS (MI) — Monday’s College Basketball Hoops rankings found The University of Dayton Flyers lurking just outside the Top 25 at #26 in both the AP Top 25 and USA Today Coaches Poll: http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/rankings

The way this season has progressed, you just know that a number of ranked schools will lose this week and UD will once again be ‘back in the high life again’ as Stevie Winwood put it.

Or will they?

A glance at the upcoming schedule shows the Red & Blue with home contests vs. St. Louis and LaSalle; a week off, followed by a road game vs. George Mason and then another homie with the Dukes. Hardly the Atlantic 10 Murderers Row, but then again that’s what we all thought when UD faced LaSalle the first time in Philly, did we not?

One would hope that the way the Flyers have been coming out of the gate strong in the last few tilts would serve them well in this upcoming quartet of ballgames…and help them avoid the el foldo that has plagued Archie’s guys in previous visits to the Top 25.

We shall see.
