BEVERLY HILLS (MI) — Ernie “Mr. Cub” Banks was famous for enthusiastically exclaiming “Let’s play two.” Ernie was probably motivated to say that after the lovable loser Cubs had fallen 10-1 in the first game. The Dayton Flyers will “play two” within the space of a mere 40 hours, as they face St. Joe’s at home Thursday at 6:00PM on ESPNU and then travel to Da Burgh to face the Dukes in a 2:00PM tilt which can be seen on NBC Sports Network. UD was supposedly offered their choice of a 9:30PM tipoff vs. the Hawk that never stops flapping or the early game at 6:00PM. Archie chose wisely.
It remains to be seen whether Kendall Pollard will suit up for one, both or neither of these contests. The thoughts of the Flyers playing two games in 40 hours with 5 recruited scholarship players and one converted walkon is less than optimal, to say the least. Here’s to speedy recoveries!
