BEVERLY HILLS (MI) — Is it just me or have things here at UD Pride seemed just a tad bit too somber lately? I mean seriously: lotsa doom, gloom, rumor-mongering threads and one too many Xavier trolls sharing their shallowest thoughts.

The “Band of Brothers” Flyers that whupped X and UNCC are back after crushing UMass. As they prepare to do battle with the Arachnids on the road in Richmond, maybe things will lighten up around here. To help speed the process, let’s all take a chill pill, shall we?

Continuing with the military theme, this situation calls for a little “Stripes” action dontcha think?

There, that feels better now, doesn’t it?

Here’s some light reading to occupy the time while we wait for BG and the Boys to stomp the Spideys on Thursday (not Wednesday) night:

— Hats off to UD Pride MB poster Levelbest for providing the video feed of the UMassacre, direct from the TV in his game room on USStream.tv. Like I said in the game thread, we love ya for providing the video, man, but I needed some aspirin after all of that bufferin’.

— Why wasn’t the game available on DaytonFlyers.com? UD SID Doug Hauschild gave me the explanation, which Doug Harris covered in this little tidbit from the DDN. The same rule applied to the UMass game, which is why the web-streaming was cancelled at the last minute:

“The UD-Richmond game will be a national broadcast on CBS College Sports, but the network is available only on the sports-tier package on Time Warner or on satellite dishes.”

Looks like us out-of-towners are gonna need you again Thursday night, John Y.

— Speaking of CBS, if you haven’t seen this yet, somebody at CBS Sportsline really likes UD:

Hit “expand” on the “Stay connected to the Madness” ad to see what I mean.

— Richmond had a bit of an identity crisis during their game with X on Sunday on the Deuce. The guy doing the halftime show referred to the Spiders as “Dayton”…twice! Musta been the red jerseys.
