BEVERLY HILLS (MI) — As we all wait for the Flyers to face the Auburn University Barkleys in their final game in Charleston, let’s scan the intrawebs to see what’s shakin’:

— I might be getting way ahead of myself here, but the twisting double-clutch move by Dyshawn Pierre at the 2:55 mark of this BC game highlight reel is positively, dare I say it, Chapmanesque?

— Interesting anecdote from David Jablonski who is subbing for Doug Harris covering the Flyers in Charleston for The DDN. He talked about his most memorable UD game:

“The one that sticks out is a game against Evansville when current Xavier coach Chris Mack threw an in-bounds pass off a UD player’s face twice. I don’t think I’ve seen such a play since. I know that’s a memorable play because Bucky Buckhorn and Tom Archdeacon both remembered it when I mentioned it at Saturday’s game.”

He really should talk to Wes Coffee about that play, as it left a big impression on him, too.

— It’s interesting to see what Georgetown fans have to say about former Hoya/current Flyer Vee Sanford:

— Former Flyer great Brian Roberts will be “The NBA Surprise Player of 2012-13.” I definitely like the way this guy from Yahoo Sports thinks:

— UD might not hold a “Midnight Madness” to kickoff their hoops season but Chicago Simeon HS, home of recent 2013 UD signee Kendall Pollard does:

— You’re gonna have to scroll down a bit to read the recap of “Scoochie” Smith’s game for Putnam Science Academy vs. Wilbraham & Monson in the New England Prep Showcase:

Here’s what Jeff Borzello from CBS Sports said in successive tweets about the Scoochster:

“Scoochie Smith has been unstoppable for Putnam Science when he wants to be. 14 points in the second half.”

“Dayton’s got a good one in guard Dayshon Smith. Getting into the lane whenever he wants, finishing. Threw down a ridic alley-oop early on.”

Here is pictorial evidence of what Smith’s hops might look like:

— Old friend Jalen Steele, the almost-Flyer recruit from Tennessee is out of the Mississippi State lineup for six weeks with a broken wrist:

— Lotsa noise lately about 5 Hour Energy supposedly contributing to 13 deaths and a spontaneous abortion:

Living Essentials is based here in Michigan and they were a client of mine when I worked at 97.1 “The Ticket.” The marketing guy there gave me a bunch of free samples to take back to the station. I tried it once before playing pickup hoops and it made me jumpy and nerved-out. Never again.

— White chocolate and peppermint Pringles anyone?

One of my co-workers went to Target the day it was announced that Hostess was going out of business. The shelves were totally devoid of Twinkies.

That’s it “From the Swamp.”
