“Well, we have just completed our first weekend of regular season games, and they did not really go as we had hoped that they would have. We lost both of them, and in reality there is no way that we should have lost either of them.”
“Our first game on Friday was extremely disappointing, not only because we lost a bad team, but because we just did not play anywhere near our potential. We came out and played really flat, and seemed to have not emotion of excitement. Offensively we lacked any kind of creativity, and that showed up in the fact that we had only three or four shots throughout the course of the entire game. Defensively we played fair at the best. We lacked a lot of communication, and we appeared to get lost at several points during the game. This lead to several breakaways for Virginia Tech, and fortunately we were able to hold the game scoreless for almost the entire game. The games tie was finally broken with fifteen seconds left when V. Tech scored. All in all the only way to describe this game is disappointing.”
“Our next game was the following Sunday against U.C.. Our team hoped to come out and redeem ourselves somewhat for our performance on Friday night.”
“Fortunately we got on the board first when Nsien scored from a corner kick, and we were playing pretty well. The excitement of leading the game was short lived though, because U.C. came back scored in the next couple of minutes to tie the game up. The game was kept scoreless for the remainder of the game with both teams having several scoring chances throughout. The bad news is that we ended up losing the game in the first half of sudden death, but the good news is that we did play well and created quite a few good scoring chances.”
“All in all the season has started out on somewhat of a sour note, but I feel and our team feels that we will turn things around and we will be all right.”
