“Well, this season continues to be like a roller coaster ride for our team. It feels like we play really well for a game, or part of a game and then we make a dumb play and lose the game or give up a bad goal. Right now, the biggest opponent that we have is ourselves, and if we can overcome this, we could and will be a very strong team for the rest of the season.”

“I think that the Bowling Green Tournament was a good example of how our season has been going thus far. We played against UW-Milwaukee on Saturday, and we came out thinking that we should beat this team, but we gave up some goals and got down to this team. Like we have in several other games this season, we came back, but we just ran out of time and could not equal the score and we end up losing 3-2. We then come back on Sunday and play Canisius, who the day before tied B.G., and absolutely destroy them. We were up 1-0 at the half, but we were a man down, and in the second half we continued to dominate and even scored 2 goals while we were a man down. So, like our season so far, this tournament was a huge disappointment followed by a good victory.”

“Following the B.G. tournament we had to go up to Ann Arbor and play the University of Michigan, who we beat pretty handily the year before. So again we were going to the game with a lot of confidence. Similarly to some of our earlier games we had to chances to score, and they had some chances, but we just gave up another bad goal. We played them pretty tough, but they got their second goal and it seemed like we had been here before. Rolfe scored with like 5 minutes left which cut the lead to 2-1, and we had several more opportunities to score, but just could not get an equalizer and we lost our fourth game of the year by one goal.”

“After the U.M. game we had a team meeting, and we basically just said that we need to put all of these non-conference games behind us and just look at our conference season as a whole new year. This new year began today with Xavier, who had been playing pretty well as of late, and always come ready to play us. Well we had some good opportunities during regulation, as did X.U., but we had to into overtime, and luckily Sunday got the game winner in the first O.T. and we won our first game of the conference season. This was a good start, but we need to keep it rolling especially with our games this weekend against Richmond and G.W.”
