— Has there ever been a better argument for “Do as I say, not as I do” than Ozzy Osbourne??? “The Osbournes” has become the one show on all of television that Mrs. Swampy, both Swampettes and I don’t want to miss. Best of all, rumor in the broadcast trade magazines has it that MTV has convinced the Osbournes to renew the show for another year.

— I’m old enough to remember “Ozzie and Harriet” and I have to say that Ozzy Osbourne is a helluva lot more interesting.

— Got to play hoops outside at the playground at the younger Swampette’s HS this weekend. That’s a sure sign that spring has arrived. And don’t tell her I told you this, but we played ‘shirts and skins’ and I was on the ‘skins.’

— Whenever I’ve played pickup basketball with a girl, inevitably some jerk will say “let’s play shirts and skins and she can be on skins.”

— Stop the presses-the Red Sox are in first place!!!

— I attended the NASDAQ 100 tennis tournament in Key Biscayne a few weeks back. Serena Williams stayed in our hotel-she is one powerfully built young lady.

— While in FL I got to play golf at Doral-the Blue Monster and the Great White courses. Damn, I’ve never been in such deep doo doo on a golf course in my life. It was painful!

— If you’re ever on Sanibel or Captiva Island of the coast of Ft. Myers, you have to eat at the Bubble Room. Trust me on this one.

— Have they started ripping up I-75 yet? Where will the traffic jams be held this year?

— Dan Dakich said he uncovered an NCAA violation when he scurried back from WVU to BGSU. What he conveniently neglected to mention was that he still hadn’t signed his contract and was trying to get the terms reworked and the administration wouldn’t budge.

— My wife and I had a one year reprieve from having to make 3 car payments and sky high insurance premiums when the elder Swampette headed to UD. Now she’s coming home for the summer and her sister is turning 16. My insurance agent is naming the new addition on her house after me.

— Even though David West is coming back for his senior year, I bet the Flyers beat X at least once in 2002-2003.

— Hey, Mrs. Flyer Fanatic, is it too early to make reservations for the Maui Invitational in 2003?

— Has Ted Kissell closed the deal on UD/Duke to open the season next year?

— Are the Dayton Dragons still selling out every game?

— Those 4 or 5 days when the UD Pride Message Board was down really sucked, didn’t they? Not that there is a lot going on right now in the world of Flyer basketball, but it’s always nice to check in and see what’s up.
