BEVERLY HILLS (MI) –- The last month or so has been totally filled with road trips for yours truly. First, I drove the future Dr. Younger Swampette down to UNC for a month-long Orthopedic Surgery rotation. Then Mrs. Swampy and I travelled to Pittsburgh and back for a wedding. We then ferried the FDYS to Chicago for another month-long rotation at Northwestern. The following weekend, I journeyed back to exurban Boston to scatter my father’s ashes over his favorite fishing spot and celebrate his life with my family. Now Mrs. Swampy and I are on the road yet again, this time to Stone Harbor, NJ and a much-needed, late-summer week on the beach.
I’m using my frequent driver miles to pay for the trip.
Before I go, it’s time to fire up the laptop and see what the intrawebs have to provide in the way of tasty linkage:
— Dave Telep at ESPN.com provides the rules of engagement for the fall recruiting period that just commenced:
— Shannon Russell of The Cincinnati Enquirer did a nice Q&A with Archie recently:
And Shannon provided a few more queries and replies from both Arch and Chris Mack here:

— Prime Flyer recruiting target Eron Harris of Indy is visiting UD this weekend. If you haven’t seen any video on the kid, check out his summer highlight mixtape:

It would be sweet if Eron gave Arch a verbal commitment before he headed home on I-70.

— Looks like Tamron Manning of Kentucky will be playing his hoops somewhere other than Dayton, as he never did get the offer he was looking for from the Flyers:

— Having worked at CNN for 10+ years, I have always held a rather low opinion of Rupert Murdoch. Vanity Fair provides a detailed account of the phone hacking scandal cover-up that manages to make him look even scummier than I ever thought possible:
