WEST BLOOMFIELD (MI) — In the final installment of “FTS Greatest Hits” I wanted to share with you what I consider to be my personal best. Most of these columns have nothing to do with basketball, but then again, so does life.

Here we go:

Number 10: From August 2004: That’s what Dreams are made of

http://www.flyersports.com/cgi/coranto/viewnews.cgi?id=EEFyZpEFZAlOELNaOJ

The Woodward Dream Cruise is next weekend and Mrs. Swampy and I will be there again. I finally convinced my car nut BiL Pete to come and take in the Cruise. After five minutes he told me “I thought you were exaggerating—this is unbelievable!”

Number 9: From February 2008: FTS on FTs

If there is one thing that constantly drives The Flyer Faithful bonkers when watching a game, it’s the inability of highly skilled players to make a simple FT. Here’s how, in a nutshell.

Number 8: From December 2004: The Graduate

http://www.flyersports.com/cgi/coranto/viewnews.cgi?id=EEFyypFVVujLUXLead

To update, the ES graduated from Chicago Kent Law School, passed the Illinois State Bar exam and went to work for a small firm. Five years ago she joined the Social Security Administration. She is currently interviewing for a Judgeship with SSA.

Number 7: From August 2006: How I Spent My Summer Vacation, Volume V

http://www.flyersports.com/cgi/coranto/viewnews.cgi?id=EEVypuZEuyyWfHkNAR

It’s not every day that you get to play hoops with a future WNBA All-Star and watch a guy almost die right in front of you.

Number 6: From April 2006: The Soundtrack of My Life

http://udpride.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5425

Like many of you, music has always meant a lot to me even tho I cannot play a lick or carry a tune.

Number 5: From April 2006: Welcome to UD Pride

http://www.flyersports.com/cgi/coranto/viewnews.cgi?id=EEuuEZElypKTMksDsX

Penned this baby when we first migrated to the new website and believe it or not, drugs and alcohol were not involved in the creative process!

Number 4: From July 2006: The Radio Station

http://www.flyersports.com/cgi/coranto/viewnews.cgi?id=EEVkAkAkAEWpqVMrJp

Probably got more feedback from this column than any other I have written, both from WVUD listeners and former co-workers.

Number 3: From March 2005: The Fanatic

http://www.flyersports.com/cgi/coranto/viewnews.cgi?id=EEFVZpVVVyDySOQDRB

A few years after this was published, I got an email from Steve’s widow Patti, probably the most rewarding piece of feedback that I have ever received on something that I have written.

Number 2: From November 2004: RSN

http://www.flyersports.com/cgi/coranto/viewnews.cgi?id=EEFyyAAVEuEDMZvtbs

This column still means a lot to me, especially since my Dad is no longer with us. The Sawx won again in 2007 and 2013, but 2004 will always be special.

Number 1: From May 2006: Peterson Park

http://www.flyersports.com/cgi/coranto/viewnews.cgi?id=EEuZVVFVyyCSXvKwbG

This one just kinda brings my whole involvement in writing around full circle, don’t you think?

So, there you have it: the “From the Swamp Personal Best.” Thanks for putting up with the summer reruns. Next time, we will be back to our regularly scheduled blogging.

That’s it “From the Swamp.”
