Flyer Feedback is going high tech. WHIO Radio and UDPride.com reached an agreement on October 13, 2008, to partner resources and give Flyer fans new tools to get involved with the best college basketball radio show in the country. The relationship begins on Nov. 11 when George L’Heureux hosts the first show of the season at Flanagan’s Pub on Stewart Street near the UD campus.

“We’re excited about the opportunity to get involved with a great product and make it even better and more accessible to the Flyer Faithful,” said UDPride.com publisher Chris Rieman. “Flyer Feedback is a terrific conduit for callers to voice their opinion on UD basketball, and UDPride provides an equally vital channel for fans connected electronically over the Internet. By combining forces on game night, both sides broaden their reach and allow fans to interact with a diversity and immediacy that’s cutting edge.”

The phone lines and open microphone at Flanagan’s will remain a show hallmark, but fans from all over the country can now take part on UDPride.com with official game day topics and polls that will be discussed on-air. Tools such as email and texting will also be utilized to encourage fans to participate in real-time.

“The fan experience now includes all of these resources,” Rieman said. “A fan recently told me the first Flyer Feedback show they listened to was in 1999 via webcast in the Marshall Islands of the south pacific. These are dedicated fans that not only make phone calls, but surf the Web, email, and text – oftentimes right off their smartphone. “

Show host George L’Heureux anticipates a strong response as well. “We’re always looking for new and exciting ways to bring more fans into our discussion and UDPride.com offers the resources to do just that,” he said. “Fans now have more options to get involved than ever before and have their opinions heard on WHIO.”

Flyer Feedback began in 1997 with Hometown Coach Mark Adams serving as host for 10 years. L’Heureux replaced Adams in 2008 and won over Flyer fans with his quick wit and friendly approach to the show. Back for his second season and the show’s 12th, L’Heureux and WHIO continue to provide a postgame sounding board after UD basketball home games.
