BEVERLY HILLS (MI) — While we are all watching and waiting for SIU transfer Kevin Dillard to decide between UD and Alabama, it’s interesting to note that Anthony GrantUniversity of Dayton Head Coach Anthony Grant is at the helm of his alma mater’s men’s basketball program after head coaching stops at VCU and Alabama. UD announced Anthony Grant as the 20th head coach in UD Basketball history on March 30, 2017. has been kinda busy of late. Bama has signed several guards, including PG deluxe Trevor Releford and Kevin Durrant’s cousin Kendall, a JUCO PG, plus 2011 studs Levi Randolph and Rodney Cooper just the other day.
Sounds awfully crowded in the backcourt down there in Crimson Tide-land for the next few years, doesn’t it KD?

What a difference a year makes –- there are only 3 Ohio kids on the list: Zach Price of Cleveland St. Ed’s, Jakarr Sampson of Akron SVSM and Aaron Thomas of Cincy, plus you can throw in Ohio transplant Chene Behannan of Kentucky.

— Kurt Stubbs of JJ Huddle.com penned a long piece on some of the recent AAU action involving Ohio squads. Here is what Stubbs has to say on a local favorite:
“By the way, there was an interesting new face playing for the Nets. His name is Geron Johnson. Yes, Dayton Dunbar’s Geron Johnson. The 6-foot-3 2010 high major prospect was gracing Indiana with his presence this past weekend and helping the Nets to the Silver title.
“I walked into the gym, and saw the Nets were trailing so I moved down to the next court,” said ESPN’s John Stovall. “A little while later I made my way back down to that court and there was a crowd of people circled around the court. The Nets have some decent players, but no one who would draw this much attention. I was thinking what is going on here. The next thing I know I see a kid flying to the hoop for a monster jam, and I realized it was Geron doing what he does.”
Johnson, who will have to go the JUCO route, is down to four schools in Vincennes (IN), Pensacola (FL), Chipola (FL), and Miami Dade (FL).”

— What does recent Kentucky recruit Terrence Jones of Washington wear in the shower? Flip flops:
Note that Jones did not sign an official LOI with UK, only financial papers, just like fellow stud Wildcat-to-be Brandon Knight. If Coach Cal decides to bolt for the NBA to team up with LeBron, both Jones and Knight would be free to jump to another school and would not have to sit out a year. Smart move by them. Anytime “Worldwide Wes” is involved, it is best to cover all of your bases.
