BEVERLY HILLS (MI) – Welcome to the next installment of the “From the Swamp” feature “What do we know about…” This time we will take as deep of a dive as is possible on the 6’ 10” Serbian mystery man Vasilije Erceg, the 2nd player to join the Flyers for the 2023-24 season.
Erceg’s interest in UD literally came out of nowhere, as the first public notice he was even on AG’s radar screen was this tweet from Jonathan Givony at Draft Express on March 24th:

NEWS: Vasilije Erceg, a 6’10 skilled Serbian big man by way of Australia, has committed to Dayton in the class of 2023. Erceg averaged 17 points and 8 rebounds per game shooting 50% for 3 in the Adriatic League U19 league.

Despite being born in Novi Sad, Serbia, Erceg spent over 9 years in Australia after moving down under as a 8 year old. He is an Australian citizen and holds an Australian passport.
He moved back to Serbia in 2021 to play in the Adriatic U19 League. In two games, Erceg averaged 17 points, 8 rebounds and 2 blocks, shooting 50% from three.
