ERIE (PA) — Now that he has committed to UD, we have to ask ourselves the question: what do we really know about Kevin Dillard?

— He was Mr. Basketball in Illinois in 2008:

— His coach Chris Lowery didn’t have the nicest things to say about him and his 3 teammates when they left SIU after being heralded as the best Saluki recruiting class ever:

— Kevin said all of the right things when he made his decision to attend Dayton:

Beyond that, let’s face it — we really don’t know a heck of a lot about KD…not that it really matters, anyway. What is important will be what Dillard does in the next 18 months, at which time he will step on the UD Arena floor for the first time in a real game. He is a “work in progress.”

— Speaking of transfers, Jeff Goodman at FoxSports.com has an updated list that includes KD:

— Former BG target Trey Burke of Columbus has re-opened his recruitment. With KD’s signing, that ‘ship may have sailed:

— The last time I saw BG he looked pale, tired and frustrated. Of course, that was after the “St. Louis Senior Day Debacle.” Nowadays, he looks tanned, rested and happy:

Good for him.

— BG talks about “50/50 balls” all of the time. This wasn’t one of them; it was more like “1/99”:

Rajon Rondo had no business whatsoever getting to that ball, let alone scoring on a layup after he secured it.

— Coaching is all about managing people; few in sports do it better than Terry Francona of the Red Sox:

— UD in a conference with DePaul, Duquense, Georgetown, Marquette, Notre Dame, Providence, St. John’s, St. Joseph’s, Seton Hall, Villanova and Xavier? It could happen, according to this writer for the New York Post:

— “Website Editors Strive To Rein In Nasty Comments.” Gee, that doesn’t seem to be much of a problem around here lately:

— The 12 types of pickup basketball players:

They somehow left out “the grey haired guy who stands behind the three-point line and bombs away.”

— I love me some BBQ ribs, but I’m really not too sure about this:

That’s it “From the Swamp.”
