“Before our season even started people were making predictions about how we would do. Once the season started, people even made more predictions, such as our team only being .500. Now that we are 1-3 I’m sure these people have begun to count us out. To all these people, you are wrong. Why do I say this, because we were only inches away from being 4-0. Once we get a few things worked out, which isn’t going to be long, we are going to be unstoppable.”
“This UD Women’s soccer team is the best I have been on since I have been here at UD. This years effort has been and is going to continue to be a team effort. The six goals we have scored have been by 4 different people. Not just the forwards, Megan McKnight, who is a role player in our midfield and defense, and Tesia Kozlowski have scored big goals for us from the midfield. Bridget Bushman has also scored a goal for us, and Shannon Kuhl scored two goals in the win over Cal Irvine. Once Liz Brown and Judi Aschenbrener get their first goals, I feel bad for the other teams we play, because there is no telling what comes after that.”
“Our defense is also as solid and deep as I have ever seen it. Erin Showalter continues to show that she is one of the most consistent players on our team. Sarah Walker has adapted positively to her defensive role. Nina DiGuardi’s and Jen Simonetti’s physical presence in the back is an asset to our team. Basically, what it comes down to is that we win as a team and lose as a team, we have no superstars, but 21 people who work their butts off everyday for each other.”
“We don’t care what outsiders think about us, we are in this for ourselves and the team. The wins are going to come. Why, because we have seen what it is going to take for us to win, and I know that we can pull it together for the 90 minutes it takes to do so. For those of you who don’t believe in our team, it doesn’t matter to us, we know what we are capable of, and I can guarantee that this year is going to be a success!”
