“I’m sure by now everyone knows that we beat the University of Richmond and GW this weekend. Finally, we put together two solid games and showed the A-10 what we are all about. Against Richmond we came out strong and looked like the team we know we should be. Our combination play and physical presence earned us two goals, one from Kara Kenney, and the other from Judi Aschenbrener. Our defense was also tough, and kept Richmond to only one goal. Sunday’s game was also a great team effort. Three first half goals, and limiting GW’s offense to no real threats, gave us our third conference win of the year.”

“However, we got a lot more out of the weekend than two wins. On Saturday we drove into Washington D.C. and saw the Pentagon. It was a lot different than seeing it on TV. We actually saw the part of the building where the plane flew into and killed so many innocent people. On TV, it really seemed like a movie, but seeing it in person, really put it into perspective. We all realized how lucky we are to be doing the thing that we love, soccer, with girls who mean a heck of a lot more to us than just teammates. Our best friends make up the team. We also realized how grateful we should be to our coaches and parents who impact our lives everyday. I think this weekend we really pulled together as a team, and realized the importance of making the best of the opportunities that are given to us, both on and off the field.”
