“Well, it’s Sunday night, about 6:30pm and we are on our way back home from Rhode Island. This weekend was awesome for our team in so many ways. First of all, on Thursday our team was finally recognized by the league. Showalter got the Defensive Player of the Year award. Rightfully so, because thinking back on the season she probably made one mistake. Which is unbelievable in my opinion. She is part of a great defense that works so well together and rallies around each other.”

“Tesia got the Rookie of the Year award. I don’t think anyone could disagree with this award. She has made a huge impact on our team with her hard work defensively, and all the huge goals she scored for us on the field during big games.”

“Megan, Bridget, Shannon, Erin, and I were recognized by the A10 on either their first or second teams. I think that it is awesome all the awards we got, but I know everyone would agree that some people were overlooked. Nina is as solid as they come in the back, she helps to hold our defense together and is one of the toughest players on the team. She is very important to our team and the success that we have. However, this year has been all about the team, and individual awards aren’t as satisfying as the success that our team has as a whole.
Another important award was given to Coach Tucker. He was recognized as the Coach of the Year. Rightfully so, Tucker along with our other coaches were the ones who believed in us from the beginning and helped us to believe in ourselves. Without the staff we have 13-0 in the A10 wouldn’t be possible.”

“Friday’s game against Xavier was awesome for our team. Winning 5-1 and giving Tucker a memorable 100th win was special for everyone. This game was as close as we came to playing our kind of soccer for the whole 90 minutes. Sunday’s game was tough, but our heart and determination prevailed and we came out with the big win.”

“So where do we go from here. Well, we want to give Tucker a start on his next 100 wins. With our heart and determination, the success of this season is endless!!”
